unless people are running around the forest following a mink family waiting until they reach old age and die, and THEN they take their fur, it would not be okay.
Originally posted by purplelucrezia@Dec 26th, 2003 - 6:14 pm I agree. I also think you cannot have one without the other. It is hypocritical to shun fur while wearing leather. Take your pick...
So let me ask you this: you personally would never wear or use any genuine leather product? No jackets/coats, no shoes/boots, no belts, no wallets/bags...? You would use synthetic materials only or would you use something natural, like....what?
i can think and do whatever i want with my own convictions....
no need to get into what we should and should not do or what i need to pick... it was just my opinion that mink furs are something different than leather shoes.....those animals are raised only for their fur and the cows are used for more than their hide....
serena i am not sure who you are talking to but i never said i dont use leather only that i would not wear fur and i dont see the huge contradiction.

i quoted Purplelucrezia & asked her a question about leather. I share your view on fur & leather not being the same
You are correct Serena in assuming that I do not wear leather. Although I will admit that I often like the look of fur and leather and that I am by no means perfect, I do try my best to make ethical choices in my life. I am also a vegetarian, by the way.
