What kind of budget are we talking about?

Expensive: Pucci Spring 2004

Cheaper: Diesel from Urban Outfitters; $60

Very cheap: Topshop; 22 pounds. I can't copy this picture, but here's a link.

newport news has uber-cheap swimsuits - all under 20 bucks or so.

I love a basic white suit myself. Correctly lined and cut right, it looks so good on the beach, makes you look tanner without having to fry...

I'm too scared to buy a white swimsuit. I'm fairly dark in certain areas so I'm afraid they will show once it gets wet.

I am a large fan of Speedo brand. They have two-piece suits, some of which are actually pretty sexy, though I prefer the tankini/boy-shorts combo for myself.

It really depends on how much actual swimming you intend to do.

I do not sunbathe, so the "sitting around looking sexy" kind of bikini is no good to me. You can't swim in one of those wee, little string bikinis--at least I can't. I lose bits of it, and that is just no good, especially if you are at a public swimming pool! And if I am at the lake, taking running leaps off the fishing dock and trying to surf on an innertube, nothing but a fairly sturdy, stay-put sort of suit will do.

I have only just recently converted to the tankini type if swimming suit. I used to swear by one-pieces, but because I have a long torso, I have to buy the special long-torso sizes, which are stupidly more expensive. With a two-piece swimming suit, I can fudge a little and just show more bellybutton than the next girl.

Same here, actually. I do like that boy bottoms cover slightly more of the leg too.
