thanks tylw

I think I better kiss this one goodbye.. I live in Europe.. and European Paypal addresses cannot be confirmed so she'll probably insist on getting payed via western union (like she did with a buyer from australia) and if something goes wrong I can't do a thing.. too bad I really like the dress..

Really? I didn't know that European addresses cannot be confirmed. Good to know.

Well, I thought the Western Union thing was a bit of BS, no? How does Western Union provide any assurance against fraud? It just seems like a way to avoid a refund.

If she is so worried, she should just require EMS with insurance. Barring someone mugging her at the post office, I can't see what can go wrong. Btw, you do know that you have similar, probably better insurance, against fraud through your credit card or even eBay? I've had the best experience with Amex; Mastercard not so much.

I hope you can find another dress!

Yeah tylw european addresses cannot be confirmed, I know this because I tried to get confirmed, and wrote to paypal europe and got this reply

Quote:
Unfortunately at this time all addresses for PayPal members outside the US, UK and Canada will continue to show a status of Unconfirmed.
What's EMS ?

Don't have Amex, just Visa and Mastercard

hanne, that akris dress sure is stunning. tough call though if you're not entirely comfortable with the seller. I don't necessarily think that 99.2% is a bad thing especially out of 3064 transactions, but her real fault seems to be her bad attitude not poor merchandise so it might be worth the risk if you really want it.

EMS is Express Mail Service through the United States Postal Service. It is the only USPS option that includes actual tracking. It is also far far cheaper than UPS, Fedex, or DHL for overseas delivery. It includes $100 automatic insurance.

I had a really bad experience with Citibank MC. I returned a damaged item to the seller, but Citibank "lost" the chargeback due to their own clerical error. However, they refused to take responsibility, and I was left with a $300 bill and no merchandise. It might have just been Citibank and not MC in general. However, Amex is renowned for its customer service. They assume guilt on the part of the seller, unless proven otherwise.

Hanne, a 2-pound (0,9 kg) EMS package will cost US$33.70 to send to Copenhagen with $350 insurance. Just to give you some idea, in case she tries to charge you excessive handling. You can check prices at usps.com. Sellers who purchase postage online also get a 10% discount off of the EMS quote.

Good luck!
