I wouldn't over-size it. Ofcourse over-sizing things seem to be in, in many things such as pants, blazers, t-shirts est.. But in a jacket like that it will make you look to bulcky. Specially is you're normally a size 0 the seems around the shoulders will throw you off and be to big.

And I am a size 0 in everything but I'd like the jacket kinda oversized, like in the vogue paris-photo. Is it safe to size up?

^ i mostly agree unless one is very tall like the models. i have this in a size 2 but wish i could have gotten it in a 1, but i could not find that size (i am about 5' 5" which is the average height in the usa). i still like it alot though.

Oh, really? Well, I am 5'3 and I am pretty slim. I have tried on another coat from the etoile-line in size 2 which fitted me perfectly but the shoulders were a little bit broad. And this is a fitted jacket.

But if i buy it in size 0, will it be too fitted? I would like it loose (oversized might be a wrong word). And there have to be room for layers because I live in the cold cold Norway.

Seems like many of you have got the jacket. Would some of you take a picture of yourself wearing the jacket so I can see it on "real" people? (I have only seen it on Emmanuelle Alt and Daria Werbowy and the runway models.) Let me know if you have sized up or not.

Here's a photo of me so you might get a picture of which size I should go for. http://i26.tinypic.com/o0zbyt.jpg

I'm usually a 0 or 1 and got the Bator in 1.
A 2 would have been too overwhelming on the shoulders and heavy.

I agree w/ Aby. I'm normally a 0 or 1 (mostly a 1) in Isabel and I got the 1 and it fits perfectly. I'm about 5' 5" and 125 lbs, if that helps. Honestly, it depends on how you want it to fit. I think either a 0 or 1 would work for you.

Thanks for the answers!

argh.. this is so difficult. I have no opportunity to try the coat on before purchasing it. It is so risky.

mathgeek: What kind of fit is it on you? Is it really loose or like in the vogue paris-photo? Do you have a photo? It's nice to see the coat on normal people but Emmanuelle Alt.

I think the jacket looks gorgeous on Emmanuelle Alt (hehe ofc). But I'd also like to see her wearing the jacket without crossing her arms. Can't really see the shape when it's buttoned-up.

frenger, sorry i don't have a pic, but mine fits similar to Emmanuelle's (though i'm not as tall and not nearly as slim )- just a tad oversized. The coat is designed to be a bit roomy, so there's no need to size up, unless you want to exaggerate the look. It has a cocoon shape, and comes in a bit at the bottom. I can't really say if it's similar to the paris vogue ad; i find it hard to see what the fit is in that pic. Good luck!

Oh no, I am so sad right now. The bator coat is completely sold out in Paris and in the whole world. I've bee calling loads of stores that carry Isabel Marant but it's sold out everywhere. Does any of you know any stores that may have it? Maybe I didn't call that store.

And if some of you would consider selling your jacket, I would definitely buy it right away! (In either size 0 or 1. I don't care as long as I have it).

^the only 2 places i know of that did have it are Odessa and Stuart & Wright in the US. i don't know if they still have any, but in case you haven't contacted them yet and if you'd like, i can call them on your behalf, wouldn't cost me a thing.

I have called them and they're sold out Why this sudden popularity of the coat? Saving up for the jacket was the worst thing I could do.. Why didn't I just swipe my mum's card instead of saving and waiting for it to be sold out. I'm so sad. Sounds like I'm having a crush or break-up.. but it's truly feels like it.

I don't know if they have the coat, but you might want to try Misch in Vancouver. (604) 731-1017
I don't think many people know that they carry Isabel Marant
