used to be the margiela artisanal series `0`, esp after he left the house...these days are more cashmere stuff, or leather stuff.
just saw a croc skin `carpet` today, but it costs 10 grand even after the discount, had to walk away...thought it will look good in the house, although probably a bit overpowering...

if i like an expensive artwork, i recreate it using vector graphics and have it sent out to be printed.

my #1 addition has to be leather garments and accessories. it holds up well and holds value more than any other material IMO.

I really like Georgia O'Keeffe, which needless to say I can only afford as a poster. I once saw a painting by her cousin (2nd cousin or something ...) Virginia Beresford. Primary colors, abstract seascape with boats. Have never heard of her, but it was still $20K ... I am even pickier about art than I am about clothes, so my taste outpaces my wallet quite quickly.

I had six months + this year when I bought nothing at all, so I can stop buying everything ... for awhile

how the hell did you do that? did you make a list to keep track of stuff you wanted? was there stuff you fancied that you re-evaluated later and found you didnt want it?

^ Well, for one thing, I had everything I really needed, so like enough things in the lingerie drawer to keep me going, etc. I had other priorities that took precedence. I did not keep a list ... I didn't think about wanting anything Since I knew I wasn't buying, I also wasn't looking. But really, my wardrobe is in a pretty good place right now--there aren't any gaping holes. I just bought a bag for the first time in years--the basic black bag I've been wanting for a long time.

Stieglitz is (was) very good. There was a small show here recently, but when I saw it was only a dozen or so photos, I wasn't sure it was worth it to get over there. Not sure about his, probably not that affordable, but the nice thing about photos is they're much more affordable than paintings. I have a couple from the Eames's collection that were exhibited. I also have a digitally-manipulated photo (or actually, maybe darkroom-manipulated? not sure) I really like from a local artist.

I could easily have dozens of cats if I had any bit less self control but on a more realistic level I cannot stop buying white tees. cap sleeved, hi lo, boxy, v neck, linen, bias cut, raglan, heathered...there are so many subtle ways that make me need every.single.white.tee.
