Glad you guys like them, thanks for the compliments

I agree pucci about the heel, I guess thats why they made the little tip so thick, but that seems really easy to get replaced if needed. The little balls of string seem very poorly sown on, but I think they'd be easy to get replaced my a tailor as well..

These are a size 39.5 (aren't you a 35.5 pucci? ), but they fit like a 38.5, they're very small. They're still a bit big cuase I wear 37.5-38 but it doesn't really bother me much.

I can't tell from those pictures. They're obviously nice, but I need to see a pic with full outfit to be sure.

Yes I do wear a size 35.5 GG.

They just looked small in the picture.. (or was that wishful thinking?!)

oh well, no luck for me then.

GG, it REALLY depends about your personal style for these shoes, I personally love the victorian influence, and the grey is fantastic, such a nice contrast if you wear a lot of black.

It's a classic and slightly edgy shoe.

I have this picture saved on my laptop of a supplement of Harpers Bazaar.

I LOVE everything in that picture, I got a similar silk dress from Yohji and that picture is so me.

I have to see how you would wear the shoes though.

Thanks for the pic pucci, it's beautiful. You have a similar bag too, your python silverado!

I'd wear them with dark blue or black skinny jeans, I'm always in jeans. But now that it's getting warmer I'd wear them shorts or skirts too, with black tights or maybe with short creme socks with tiny little navy polka dots? I'm wearing socks in the pic just so that if I do return them, this way they're less worn for the next person...

Thanks for your thoughts pucci The more I look at them, the more I like them, but still their so expensive

GG I adore those little boots!!! I hear them calling my name, but I must resist...I have hardly worn my Pedro Garcia's because they're satin,so their time is still coming.

Why did you buy them so large...do they run small?

I agree that that heel looks a bit silly and plastic, but that it's very easy to replace.

If you wear the shoes with dark denim just be careful about colour transfer on the suede.I think they would look lovely with flouncy black and nude skirts...and they would have looked great with that Stella McCartney shirt dress )

I think you need to try them on with different outfits of your own,see how often you can make them work, and also see how comfortable they are. (they look *really* high on your foot.

If there is anything that makes you think that they might spend more time inside the wardrobe than outside, then you could find two pairs of great shoes for the price.

(Where did you find them? I saw them in a Dutch magazine recently price given as 745 euros. But like most things, you cannot find them in Holland and would have to order from France.)

Oh and a last aside...congrats on finding Nemo!!! (The fishie necklace LOL). I want to see a pic when he arrives!!!!

GG I think the boots are GREAT and I'm definately not an ankle boot person. They come up to just the right height and the shade is perfect. You really can wear them with a lot. My ONLY concern is that they look slightly too big for you and you wear more heels than I do and prob. walk less as well but I find in heels that 3-4 inches if they are too big they are just way less stable to walk in and don't provide the adequate support so you may not like wearing them as much even if they feel alright now, once you are down the block and you realize your shoes aren't really providing any support it's a bit eeek. but that might be counteracted by the fact that they are boots. Just a thought

hehe, yep, I found nemo!

The suede is actually linen, I want to spray these with vectra to try to protect them. They run about a full size small but they're kind of big, it's the only size they had. I got these at barneys btw.

I saw the 745 euros quote for the tall boots in a mamagzine as well, that price is true in paris but here they're so much more

I tried them on a bit more last night and I think I'll be keeping them!

Thanks quirky for your feedback!

GG - those boots are stunning! But you are the best person to decide on whether to keep them or not. You might want to base your final decision on whether they are comfortable, will last longer than one season and will be worn lots! For reference, french shoe sizing is one size smaller than Italian - i.e. in Prada or Marc Jacobs I'd take 36 but in a french made french marketed shoe - perhaps like Rochas? - I would go for a 37. That said all the houses have different policies - LV changed their sizing quite some time ago from the french to italian - and chanel sizing is based on Italian.

This is my mantra- I need to shop!!!

Thanks for the comments everyone! I'm keeping them

Meg -- Thats a really good point! I have a pair of louboutins that I had to get a half size larger to compensate for my wide feet (they're still too narrow), and they were so hard walk in, they would always fall off. I eventually had a little piece of foam placed in the back and now they're ok. I think these should be more stable since they're boots but I'll try walking a bit more on carpeted floor.

Grill -- I had no idea french and italian sizing was different, that explains it since these are a full size smaller than what I'm usually used to. Thank you for clearing this up, this makes shoe shopping easier for the future Do you know who else uses french sizing? Balenciaga? I've heard of their shoes running very very small.

the piece of foam is a good idea. I had inserts for my shoes but they fell out and now I don't wear them because i wore them twice without the inserts, one time i fell down some stairs! and the other time i just about toppled over! and they aren't even that high. But glad you are keeping them they are gorgeous little boots!
