I live less than 15 minutes away from a TJ Maxx and I haven't been?!
I didn't know that you could find stuff like Chloé and Vera Wang from this store...
But, then again, if the store is anything like Marshall, I'm going to be doomed. I can never find anything in that store.
^^ finding that kind of stuff is usually rare...
it's typically one piece here or there...
i wouldn't go in expecting to find that kind of thing but sometimes when you dig through the merchandise you can get a nice/special surprise

thanks for the heads up...
wouldn't want to get disappointed in the end!
I like TJM. I'm not too much of a fashion snob not to go. I have found nice bags and designer wear. This summer, I racked up on some Lilly Pulitzer (a rare find outside of her shops)to wear in Florida. Why pay retail for such "bright" colors that can only be worn for 2 months?...*haha* They get nice bags...sometimes. I recently found Michael Kors Mixed Media and Astor bags.
The trick is you have to have a couple of hours to find good pieces. They mostly have trendy nonsense, but you can find treasures if you have the patience.

I go to the TJ Maxx in less fortunate neighborhoods because the high end pieces usually stay on the racks. The ladies that shop at those locations usually don't have a clue as to who Kors, Valentino are. They are looking for Apple Bottoms, XOXO and Baby Phat crap. No offense, but nicer pieces usually are void to trendy kids, which is all the better for me.

Since I don't live close to any high end stores, the most they'll have at our TJMaxx is Polo, sometimes BCBG. Sucks, yes. I'm very envious of those who live near TJMaxx's with quality stuff.
It's the same here unfortunatly. We get abercrombie, guess, express, gap, etc as the best brands at the TJ maxx stores here. I used to shop at TJ maxx all the time when I was little.
All of you who have nice designer stuff at TJ maxx are lucky
I like TJ Maxx, especially how cheap it is. I got three back to school outfits there for under a hundred and fifty bucks!

Runway models

FRAMINGHAM -- Two T.J. Maxx stores in MetroWest will be among 25 test sites for a new department dedicated to discounted high-end designer apparel, accessories and footwear.
The TJX Cos. Inc. will roll out "The Runway at Maxx" in-store boutiques at T.J. Maxx stores in Framingham and Sudbury on Sept. 10. Four more Massachusetts stores will have test sites by the end of the month, according to Sherry Lang, a spokeswoman for the Framingham-based off-price retailer.
The department will include goods from "vendors and brand names that historically we would not have had in our stores," Lang said. "It will be easy for the customer to walk in the store and find it."
Lang said TJX will sell the upscale American and European designer brands at up to 60 percent off the price consumers would find in high-end boutiques and fashion centers. The company is able to offer the discounted products because it acquires goods according to current market trends, rather than by hiring designers or guessing what next year's trends are going to be, she said.
Lang said the company will not unveil the specific brands it plans to sell, so customers can visit stores for "a treasure hunt."
TJX is introducing the new initiative, among others, as part of an effort to improve profits at the retailer's chains, Lang said.
Lang said TJX is also expanding the square footage of jewelry and accessory departments at its T.J. Maxx stores and the footwear departments at its Marshalls stores.
As of Jan. 28, TJX operated 49 T.J. Maxx stores in Massachusetts, out of 799 nationwide, and 46 Marshalls stores in the state, out of 715 nationwide. The retail giant also operates HomeGoods, A.J. Wright and Bob's Stores.
this must be exactly what i was talking about in post #43 above!!
so i saw the beginnings of this about a month ago! thanks for bringing the news in lucy! you're on fire lately! (in a great way)
I'm really excited for this... can't wait to see what they'll have... i know i saw "prada" and "miu miu" on the boards that they were bringing in to the store in framingham....
I haven't checkout out the sudbury tj maxx but i actually work in sudbury so maybe i'll check it out...
it makes sense that they would start off in their framingham store since that is where they are based, and in sudbury since it is a town full of affluent women...
I just lucked out!
Oh my gosh, so i was just making the casual rounds at TJ's to see if they had anything good, I JUST BOUGHT SOME WHITE SEVEN FOR ALLMAN KIND FOR $12... and I was meaning to try the white denim thing for a while now... so excited, thought I would share the find!
