i work at urban in SF.

there are ups and downs as with any company.

honestly, i hate the quality of a lot of our products, bad QC, shipment inconsistencies, and just plain poor construction of some garments.

Our shoe selection, our capsules, and few random labels[silence and noise], however are fantastic.

ps: when buying tights, ask if the pair is available in the back unpackaged for $1.96.

some of the stuff I want there are way too expensive for me, and it really pisses me if the price got lowered after I bought it. I usually go to the clearance rack.

you have 14 days to do a price adjustment just so you know for the future.

I am the same way. I also do this at Anthropologie. I feel both stores have great styles but the quality is not worth the full price!!

My tastes have evolved in the past couple of years, especially over the past year, and walking into Urban Outfitters for the first time in a while yesterday was sooo satisfying. They really have some wonderful items, as I'm sure anybody that visits this board knows. Honestly, it's hit and miss with me - but some of the hits are fabulous. I saw a long, soft cardigan that would be fantastic over a dress. They have a really cool gingham top, and a great black strapless dress. None were on sale. But I'll be watching the sale racks.

yeah, urban outfitters owns Free People. As well as Anthropologie, Terrain, and Space Fifteen-Twenty.

Free People is what Urban Outfitters started as.

Why don't you post this in the yay or nay thread! I'm sure people will be pretty helpful there.

I disagree, as I work at an Urban Outfitters in the US and have bought and seen things on sale that were once $120 and were marked down to $4.99, as well as jackets well over $350 on sale for $40. It all depends on what store you're in and what items are popular, etc... its all very circumstantial. But I will say that Urban definitely has some amazing deals if you're willing to look...

^ I wasn't saying that they didn't have good deals. I was saying that a few years ago, we regularly had these promotional sale days when the customers could get 50% off the lowest marked sale price. We stopped advertising them/doing them so often because all people were buying was sale, then, and totally ignoring most of the regular-priced merchandise.
