Vanessa Bruno
Hi won'tbe on for long - stuck at heathroow (its ****). Mehg - VB will take an order for you - I have a name & contact details - will pm them to you - do you speak french? Might help if you do...

Softgrey - mmmm - think you'll like it. colours are good. tried on the burgundy dress. nice but skirt quite short. made me look a bit too skinny (atually a good thing in paris where i tend to feel like a hippo). will writemore on sun/mon as I can't type on this crap machine. The budget died a death on day two. God. Extreme guilt. bought heaps. too much to list here. Loving isabel marant. can't be bothered with the big labels. more anon.

Ok vanessa bruno... i would describe it as mediaval/greek infuenced.

colours - black, burgundy, violet, pale pink and a dark blue-y green-y colour that was v. nice.

shapes - sofy & floaty - loose & gathered. empire line tops. I tried on a nice one in the green-y colour. It was really pretty - empire line & lots of floaty gathering under the bust. tight sleeves. didn't buy it though - too much to choose from.

The burgundy dress was lovely too - it had gathered bits around the hips & puff sleeves. It had a high neckline though & buttons down the back. I think it was about 270Euros.

There were some nice little boiled wool jakets (the fabric the dress was made from) with ties around the waist. Also (which I liked very much) there were little knee length velvet culottes whih the girl in the shop was wearing with a fitted jersey & flat ballet shoes. She looked lovely. I also tried them on & they were really nice.

She is also doing really lovely underwear (I bought a chiffon bra).

The thing which I also liked which I saw a lot of girls wearing in Paris was these nice leggings - wool I think. To be worn under little skits & with flat shoes. They just looked gorgeous. They were over long so that you had to wear them wrinkled up at the bottom. Quite 80's I suppose.

Bags were nice too but I was persuaded by a guy in L'eclaireur to plump for one by Sissi rossi. delectable!

see ya later.

yes it was expensive but that was her main line. she does the 'athe' line which is cheaper. They stock VB in Urban Outfitters here so was going to get something later in the season from there.

So have you bought anything yet,Helena? One of the department stores near me has started carrying it (V,but I haven't found anything that interesting yet..it's so buyer-dependent.

And they have some things on Brownsfashion.com,but the best ones are all sold out .

Oh,and IM has also been carrying those over-long,wrinkly leggins

i agree quirky...very often the pieces i like aren't available near me or sell out very quickly ...

i liked it better when fewer people knew who she was......
nothing ever sold out and sometimes you could even find good sales...

not so much anymore......

i have one grey top that i got in paris last year that i still haven't worn...

my favourite
Vanessa Bruno is my favourite!! I used to live in HK, and there's a whole sub-store inside Seibu. Now I'm in Singapore, I rely on Ebay...but it's slim pickings. Will be moving back to HK in December...I just cannot wait to get my hands on some more Vanessa Bruno...so exciting!!!

no quirky, I haven't bought any VB this season. I saw it all in paris and, to be honest, I wasn't that keen. i just found it a little dull.

i recently looked at the site again ...

and i think i like fw 05 better than i originally thought...
i like dresses and coats and some of the tops from the athe collection...
the colours a bit muted..but that is ok of you mix it with other stuff i think...

i just wish they would open a store here...
it's so hard to shop for her stuff..

about 5 stores have about 5 pcs each...
so you have to scour all corners of the city looking for it...
it's too much trouble really...
i wish one or two stores would just have an exclusive and beef up their selection...
