actually i have a more realistic purchase that I'm not quite decided on that I wouldn't mind some opinions on. I'm probably 70-30 buy-don't buy at the moment.

The Hill-Side Selvage Indigo Discharge Print Tie Floral

(contextclothing.com)

I'm not usually big on prints on ties or floral prints on anything but I think this could absolutely kill if pulled off well.

Yay to the tie!

I need help...been thinking about this red Balenciaga leather jacket.
I love the silver zips but the color is so appealing-alluring-fabulous-impractical to me all at the same time!
I know black is the most practical choice, but I do have a few black leather jackets already and there's something about the color that makes me go back to it again and again. However, red is not really a practical color.....

Help?

First of all, I think that Balenciaga is a Hell-Fricking-Yay. Seriously.
Though the issue with red I can understand. I have a red peacoat, and it's annoying having to switch out my regular bag/scarf/whatever in order to not be wearing a color that I think might clash with it too much. You already have a few black leather jackets, so it would probably be easy to switch out for a black one if that happens. The other thing about a red coat, maybe this is just me, but it's a lot of color, sometimes I think it makes me really stand out a lot.

any way it's gorgeous and now I wannnt one.

PrincessImp. Nay. I bet if this wasn't Balenciaga people wouldn't be as enthusiastic about it, actually. I like the details and all but think this would look much better in black or a very dark and deep red. This seems to have a bit of a orange-y shade (it might be just the picture) which I don't like. Plus, I'm always skeptical about buying expensive designer items which you're not 101% in love with. But maybe that's just me, I'm all for the "buy classics from designers, buy trendy stuff from Zara" philosophy

Speaking of Zara, what do you think about this top? I like the pop od colour on the upper part, but I find this nude/light salmon shade (looks almost peachy on the pic, but IRL it's not so warm) kinda unflattering (I am very pale).

^ If you are pale to begin with, I'd say nay. On that picture, the model's kinda pale and the color of the top washes her out. Maybe wear it when you have a tan? Hehe

I guess as a less pricey alternative to the Balenciaga, there is always the Schott Perfecto, which is a classic.
It's only in black on the site, but I've for sure seen it in other colors somewhere.

I found a vintage wool Perfecto once, but it had some kind of dumb, Olde English screenprinting on the back. Otherwise it would have been perfect.
