Second pair, Faust. They look fine and you can run them into the ground and not care.

which is more comfortable?
it seems like you're leaning towards the second, since they're less expensive, for work, and have another pair for weekends. i say be practical. the second pair.

i agree...i like maybe 4 out of every 10 pairs of ic shoes. i know there are much nicer pairs out there.

faust...my instinct was the second pair for the shape, but i like the material in the first better..if they're just going to be beater shoes i'd say go for the cheaper pair, but i'm sure getting the more expensive pair isn't going to depress you

Don't know - they are both "virtual." I know Fiorentini+Baker (2nd pair) are excellent quality. I am not as familiar with the first brand, but I do remember seeing their footwear in a reputable store here in NYC.

Thank you for your opinions everyone.

Ok, I pulled a trigger on the 2nd pair. When I zoomed them in on Yoox, you could see that the leather is textured as well, and the shine you see on the picture attached is probably from the camera flash. Hope they fit.

These boots?

Normally I wouldn't want anything so shiny, but maybe it is time to diversify my look?

the shininess definitely makes it less appealing. maybe you can roll them around in the dust after you buy them? :p I think it'd be a yay sans the shine.

^ a few days walking the city's dusty streets should do the trick.

Just noticed there is a separate Yay or Nay in the shoes forum... confusing.

Any other opinions out there?

I like 'em Tangerine! Have a similar pair actually :p I think the shininess adds a bit of pizazz. Especially if your pairing them with basics. I vote Yay

BTW - Would these be considered patent?

Thanks Curious. Good question about patent leather. According to wikipedia, they would qualify.

I didn't like that color, but I liked the black one. You could do a lot worse - I love the leather on Balenciaga bags, but $1k for a bag is kind of perverted if you ask me. :p
