I passed on the previous ones because I didn't know exactly what was actually to be critiqued. It would help to tell what we're actually critiquing rather than just post something out of the blue. Now let me get to meeks and the two dresses she posted in Post #11,790.

To the first dress, I'm going to have to say Nay for that tartan-type print. The colors are dull too. Not the kind of purple/violet I'd go with if I were looking for a nice violet outfit. It would have been better if the dress was all-black or all-white with that pop of color from a rich violet color (especially with the sash). By all means, stay away from that dress. Don't let it woo you into buying and wearing and owning it.

I have a number of colors I like, and pewter isn't one of them. So that second dress is a Nay! There are many other similar-style dresses that would look better than this dress.

So I wouldn't approve either dress. For almost every option, there are better alternatives. I would look for those alternatives and stay away from the two aforementioned dresses.

meeks i like them both....
i think they would look especially good and age appropriate for someone in their late 20s early 30s but could work for other age groups as well...

the one on the right looks a bit incomplete though because of the elastic waistband or whatever that is..
if you get that you might want to play around with some belts...

i like the one on the left because i think the sash thing helps to complete the look...

they're also both a bit classic looking... which is a good investment with the way the economy is...

The top in Post #11,794 is only a Yay! if you're wearing this as an accessory. Either would serve you well, but wearing it as a top, too risqué and not too stylish. Unless... you're the daring type. Wearing it with a T-shirt would be a bit lazy. Try a silky, slinky camisole or spaghetti-strap tank top to wear underneath that... whatever this thing is.

Now on to from: Sophia's recommended fringe top. I don't say this often about certain garments, but it's a bit too low-cut at the front (because I saw this from Urban Outfitter's website). Too much going on at the back. So since the negatives outweigh the positives, Nay! Sorry...

You forgot to post credits, Ina. However, I found that exact picture using ShopStyle, liking me to the image on shopbop.com. I'm going to pass this dress. It's a Yay! Simple, feminine, and lovely.

I'm a homme. However, if I were a femme, here are some options I'd go with:

* that dress + indigo blue skinny jeans + cranberry or gold peep-toe pumps or high-heel strappy sandals
* that dress + black tights or leggings + (if you can find a good pair) matching knee-high boots or mahogany boots
* that dress + black peep-toe pumps with wood bottom or black mary jane pumps

If that were a black dress, then I'd go with either purple/violet tights or leggings and black ankle boots. Those would be my options. But it's all up to you and how you want to wear these. I was hinting towards tights and leggings because I thought the length of the dress was a bit too short to brave wearing at that length. I couldn't find any waistline, so it was hard for me to recommend sporting those with leggings or tights or not. So I've given it a yay.
