Are you addicted to Ebay?
Because I AM :p

I never realized the extent of my addiction until I won my Vivienne Westwood mary janes just now. Last night I set my timer to 10 hours, and I woke up this morning and rushed towards the computer right away. I always bid during the last 10 minutes, so I quickly sat down in front of the monitor and refreshed the page about 50 times. My heart started beating like crazy, I kept thinking, what would I do if I didn't win?? I assured myself it wouldn't happen, but has the auction become near a close my heart started beating faster and faster, and my face became redder and redder. Until when I've won the auction, then I can heave a big sigh and my heartbeat goes back to normal.

Is this normal? Are any of you like this too??

Funny you should write that...I read this morning in a paper that people had started booking into 'the priory' rehab clinic to recover from ebay addictions...don't get too far into it...or it could be you

OMG! Maraschin0....I'm an Ebay addict as well!!! I've got about 60 items on watch atm. I actually search Ebay everyday with a set list of things to check whether there are new items listed. I go on the Ebay.com site and so items usually end at really stupid hours like 4 in the morning UK time....
I just love Ebay......you can get things that aren't available in stores AND they're cheaper as well!

airportx and susie_bubble: YAYY I'm not alone here!! Lol

I'm so glad you are too susie I always have around 50 and above items on my watch list as well! I set out in search of one thing that I want, maybe a coat or something, then I end up finding like 20 other fabulous things and I want them all! Oh I hate it when they end in the very very early morning... I always have to set my time to like 3 am or something and rush out and wait til the auctions over, then go back to sleep.. =( Ebay is great isn't it? Haha

this is exciting to hear because i am on the other side. i sell vintage on ebay. and if you want to talk about refreshing the screen try when your sales are coming in...! it is a big thrill the whole process on either side i think. it is gambling. and i realized i get to get my gambling inclinations out by doing this.

i used to shop on ebay too. and i completely understand how exciting that is. as soon as you see someone has outbid you, it feels like you want to start a little tiny war. like- thats mine! and i'm going to own it no matter what it takes. i have more self-control now. but sure is fun all around.

I'm soooooooooo addicted as a buyer AND a seller! My husband says that I'll sell anything in the house that isn't bolted down - - he isn't far from the truth. I sell anything and everything on eBay.

I do get that adrenaline rush on both sides of the fence too. I get crazy trying to see if my bid isn't going to win an item I MUST have and get the same feeling when I'm watching the bidding (hopefully) go up on an item I'm selling.

Ugh... it's a dangerous, dangerous addiction.

I'm completely obsessed. My dad was a horrible influence, he won an authentic Cartier watch for like 75% off. The people at the Cartier boutique were amazed. Ever since then it's just been like bidbidbidbidbuybuybuybuy. I have a problem.

hello fellow ebay addicts!
i started 2 years ago. it hasn't stopped since! i'd say i'm a little more selective now. and even when i lose a bid i'll console myself that there's always something nicer in the horizon... or i'd convince myself that i just avoided a really bad buy. in any case,
maraschino, u should try an auction sniper. that way u don't have to drag yourself to the computer at 4 am jus to watch a bid end..!

some of my best buys as in key wardrobe pieces were from ebay :
- randolph duke peep toes in gun metal
- dozens of victoria secrets tube tops (i'm a big tube fan)
- at least 4 pairs of vintage boots
- a 1980's vintage blue bottega satchel!!( which my mom promptly borrowed and i havent seen it since!)
- tonnes of OPI nail varnish
oh gawd.. when will the madness end!!!
i've got 90 items on my watch list!
its so bad that when i go away on a holiday, the momemnt i arrive at the hotel, i'm scanning the neighbouring area for internet cafe's.. if i'm staying with a friend i also check in advance if he's got access too!

What's your user name? Lemme check out your stuff!! I have a few fave vintage sellers on Ebay. It's so much better than buying in person coz you can get some REAL bargains.
