I usually go for the smoky kohl-eyed look, to make my eyes look larger, as I am not too keen on my natural shape.

I was going to get my makeup done at Chanel for a ball next month, but not so sure now. I've never met any makeup person who does makeup to my liking.
That's so true! I always prefer Asian make up artist when going for my make up in a salon. My eyes are big with crease and stuff, but they are not as deep as caucasian eyes. The caucasian make up artist would apply make up to make my eyes look deep, but it actually looked more like "trashy" or this drama queen look.

I have lids and my eyes are not slanty at all. They are just not as deep as Caucasian eyes. But whenever I go to makeup counter, they always try to erase my double lid and make my eyes slanty, and it never worked let me tell ya. I always end up looking like going on stage in a cheesy play. Why can't they just do makeup according to each person???

When you get your make-up done, why not tell them how you want them to be done so they won't mess up as much?

^I had the same thing happen to me when I went to MAC...this girl did my make up and when I looked in the mirror I was horrified lol. She put dark make up above my lids and then a lighter shade. It looks great on women who have deep set eyes or eyelids. But this one girl saw my make up and was like to her bf "I want my make up to look like that" and he gave me this nasty look like "uhh no way" lol

But you just have to tell them what works better for you and what you dont like. On special ocassions like the prom or whatever, I always do my own make up I never have someone else do it especially if I have never gone to them to do my make up.

I know that is so true, they always stereolize us as slanty eyed, small nosed and dark skinned ppl, which is only true to certain ppl(not saying those features are bad, but it not all Asian have to have those features). Like when some people saw a pale/or eyes have crease/or tall nose appear on an Asian they would be like "why you want to look Western?!" or "are you part white" or simply "you got plastic surgery?!" it gets no my nerve as they consider that as "Asian Beauty" and without realized that beauty, ragardless of races, are the whole thing, inner and outer, and not some random features.
and why we let other people to decide what our idea of beauty sould be?!

I don't lighten my eyebrows. I find that they look sparse (which makes them look light already), especially near the ends so I use a pencil to fill them in. By the way, those Japanese makeup pages look really neat but I probably couldn't make my own eyes look like that for the life of me

I think the asian girls on the covers have really nice lightened eyebrows.
But I'd like to keep mine a little darker yet not black.
