Birds of a Feather all Lash together..
Text and picture from blog.sephora.com posted by Jessica Anderson on April 26, 2007

Backstage Beauty: Feather Lashes
Quote:
Want long, bird-like lashes with dramatic flutter?
Meet your new best friend: Make Up For Ever Eyelashes Ref 25116.
Our makeup artist, Jorge Serio, used them on our shoot Friday, creating a creative, incredibly eye-popping look. Again, probably not one for the office—the model i nsisted blinking was an endeavor with these babies—but if you just want to look Moulin Rouge-esque for a night out:

1. Cut the feathery lashes into small pieces, about 1-2 inches wide.

2. Use a tweezer to dip each piece, one by one, into the included eyelash glue.

3. Next, press each lash as close to the baseline of your real lashes as possible, pressing for a few seconds until the glue starts to dry.
“Really fill in the top, outer lash area to make eyes pop,” Jorge says.

4. After each lash is in place and the glue has had a minute or two to dry,
trace your eyes gently with Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in Black Mat 0L—to disguise the glue spots—and follow gently with Make Up For Ever Lengthening Mascara in Black 1 to blend your real and faux lashes.

5. Bat those beauties around!

Model Courtney Arndt, shows off Shu Uemura's pink and deep purple feather eyelashes. Unfortunately, they won't be available to retail outlets until fall.

Shu Uemura Lashes
Text from time.com Nov. 05, 2006 By Kate Betts, Betsy Kroll
BATTER UP: GLAM OPTIONS TO EMPHASIZE LASHES
Quote:
Once the province of showgirls, fake eyelashes are a key part of this season's vamped-up look. Fashionable women are flocking to Shu Uemura, the Japanese cosmetics company known for its precision-made makeup brushes and a selection of falsies that range from natural to rainbow colored. Its over-the-top Tokyo Lash Bar collection includes ornate feather lashes, above and below, and lashes studded with crystals. For $350, a Shu Uemura lash stylist will provide the ultimate service to amplify your eyes: extensions. It takes two hours to apply an extension to each individual lash, but the technique leaves your lashes looking voluminous for more than a month.

Shu Uemura Tokyo Lash Bar – And last but not least is a mention of the new Tokyo Lash Bar at Shu Uemura in Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge. If you have ever wondered how to put on the fabulous false lashes that have made their way onto so many catwalks this season, £9.00 will get you a choice of lashes and a complimentary application. But while you are there and browsing the traditional lashes, don't miss out on the new, feathered creations for this season. Amazing flutters of spotted brown full lashes, thin-fringed lashes with peacock tips, long sweeps in orange and blue. And my favourites – a set that has been gathered into exact replicas of spider webs. They are fabulous! The feather lashes all run about £12.00 and are completely re-usable.
So go on…have a flutter this season with one of the most important makeup trends of the season. Lashings of lashes. You know you want to…

It sure does, even the normal ones take a bit of time to get used to.

Its such a stunning look, but oh god how uncomfortable they are!

I remember using them on a client and the poor thing was complaining all day about how heavy her lids felt

Hanne, I love this thread! I love the third look down in post 6. I have only done fake lashes once, and it felt so weird. I have heard that the Shu Uemura lashes are great though, and that Madonna & Oprah swear by them.
