All Bran... mmmm. I eat that. so good. I usually have apples, bananas, Cheerios with milk, some toast (the really dark breaad with tons of seeds in it... what's it called...), and occasionally an egg.
I think its really imoprtant to get some fat and protein in the morning. Sometimes, I will eat just a couple pieces of toast, which is bad. I'll be so tired around 2, 3 pm, and I'll end up bingeing at night on ice cream. My perfect breakfast would be: bowl of All Bran with milk, fruit like oranges, bananas, apples, an egg and a bit of full-fat yogurt (actually! The low-fat yogurt is full of sugar and it doesn't make you feel full. Also, if I don't get some fat in the morning, I'll crave it late at night.)
2 peices of toast w/ vegemite and a glass of orange juice...
If I go out I get scrambled eggs & english breakfast tea w/ soy milk...
I never used to eat breakfast, but it's helped me so much with my eating habits lately, I have to stick to it. I'm just so not a morning person I walk around like a zombie for at least an hour before I can function properly.
like everyone else says..protein + carbs in the morning = good
I try to get about 30g of protein per meal (5-7 small meals a day)
But an easy way to get protein and vitamins, are high protein cereals like Kashi GO LEAN, Total protein, and there are plenty others out there with added protein.... and a cup of milk..quick way for about 20g of protein per bowl and tons of vitamins and carbs.
Other breakfast foods I eat regularly include organic oatmeal with a scoop of wheat germ...whole grain toast and natural peanut butter...cup of yogurt w/ wheat germ....cottage cheese and some fruit...or a fruit smoothie with protein powder
..i guess I'm a little bit of a health freak tho haha
All-bran w/skimmed milk and strawberries is what I usually eat in the morning, I always need something high in fibre. Sometimes I have scrambled egg whites or wholemeal toast with honey/jam.
This morning I had TOASTED oatmeal... Recipe:
Melt a little butter in the pot over medium heat and toast the oats in it for a few minutes while mixing well. Add water and cook it normally. Just doing that one step brings out the most delicious toasty-nutty flavor and texture...yum!!!
Other breakfast faves:
homemade wholewheat pancakes/waffles/scones
unsweetened yogurt
fresh fruit and berries
fruit and veggie smoothies
soy milk tea
A traditional Japanese breakfast:
steamy rice
natto--fermented beans
miso soup
grilled fish or sashimi
pickles
nori seaweed
fresh raw egg or soft-boiled egg with soy sauce to top rice
green tea
Lately I've been having half a Nutrigrain bar w/ Almonds (the two mixed together are fantastic - that perfect mix of salt and sugar, like movie popcorn with M&M's ) and some fruit. I used to eat so much protein, but I think I need a break.
