cow's milk is not meant for people. it's meant for calves. about 1/6 of people are lactose intolerant. in addition, dairy products cause acne for many people. www.mayoclinic.com

yes, soy milk is more expensive than cow's milk, but it's so much healthier. you get all the nutrients of cow's milk without any of the saturated fat or cholesterol.

just out of curiousity.. while you were researching this topic, did you come accross any facts that argue cows milk has more or equal benefits to soy? I've always wondered..
I'm not an advocate for anything. I am a skeptic.

I am especially skeptical of something that tastes inferior and costs more than its competitor.

The research I do can be done by ANYBODY. Pubmed is FREE.

If you guys want a really good soy milk, try West Soy. Its all organic and i prefer the non fat, plain type, its not so thick and doesn't have that nutty taste that some of the as other types of soy milk has, tastes really good on cereal

Well, I've done a bit of digging, and finally figured out what is behind the anti-cow's milk propaganda machine:

PeTA

What a surprise. As everybody knows, PeTA is an excellent source of unbiased nutritional information.

I'm not going to comment further, beyond reposting this excellent picture (Firstview) of a Dior model pushing a PeTA activist off the runway:

I have to disagree there. Soymilk tastes better than Cows milk!

I've always used to use cows milk in my cereal and than slowly switched to soymilk and now the only thing I drink is soy. Last week, we ran out of soymilk so I made my cereal with regular milk and it tasted so bad I couldn't eat any of it.

^ i know. when i was little, i lived in russia, so we only had cow's milk. it made me sick all the time even though it was organic, so i couldn't drink it. now i drink soy milk and it's wonderful.
^^what does peta have to do with promoting soy milk? they protest people wearing fur, which is understandable. how would you like to be skinned for what's on your back? just because you like cow's milk, doesn't mean that people who don't like cow's milk and drink soy milk are propagandizing. and peta is an excellent source of information even if they are extreme in getting their information through. sometimes the only way to change the opinions of people is through a revolution.

Soy milk is so delicious and great in every way. I love Silk and Vitasoy. Vanilla Rice Dream is good too, my most favorite breakfast is Cascadian Farms Honey Nut-O's and Vanilla Rice Dream. Seriously try some and you'll be HOOKED! The Cascadian Honey Nut-O's tastes so delicious and it's organic, whenever I eat cheerios now it tastes like manufactured cardboard. I thought this was really interesting.

North America has one of the highest consumptions of dairy products, and also the highest incidence of osteoporosis a disease of brittle bones formed through the loss of calcium. The dairy lobby has many campaigns and advertisements encouraging people to consume large quantities of dairy products to ward off this dreaded disease later in life. But that's not the whole story.
Regardless of how much calcium you take in, the amount your body can actually absorb and retain matters more. The high animal protein intake typical of North American diets can make it difficult to retain calcium. Digesting animal protein creates an acidic environment in the body. To neutralize the acid, the body may rob calcium from the bones. Years of this pattern can contribute in osteoporosis later in life.6

I only drink milk with coffee so I don't really mind either way. I do prefer soy milk to cow milk though, it's not as creamy...

I had to switch to soy once when they thought I was allergic and I hated it! So it's cow juice for me!
