Please don't laugh at me, I'm asking genuinely.
I'm thinking about buying the Kinect cam for my boyfriend as christmas gift and I'd like to know if I'll enjoy some fun myself with these applications.
I have personal experience only from Wii Fit, but I guess pretty much the same goes for Kinect. They are definitely better than no exericise at all, and if you haven`t worked out for a while/ are a beginner they might be just a right start for you. There are plenty of good exercises in those programs, they are simple and you may recognize many moves from instructed (yoga, aerobic etc) classes.

If you are more experienced with sports you may find some of the programs boring and non-effective. But I guess they have developed a lot since I played wii fit, when it first came.

If you enjoy spending time by your console anyway, then why not to give a try

I finally bought the Kinect cam ! Actually it was more a gift for my boyfriend but I did tested You Shape. The boxing fitness course is ok even if I didn't went through the whole stuff.
Tommy Girl, I attended some fitness course so I recognized many moves. I think it's practical to use it when the weather is so bad that you don't want to go out to the fitness club or during the week end when the club is closed.
Anyway, it adds up to my usual routine not replace the cardiotraining exercice I do.

Ashcottmanor, I was wondering if it wasn't harder on one's knees and calves to run on a treadmill. I noticed my body reacts in a different way while I run outdoor or on a treadmill.
After all, the way you run on a treadmill is different, less natural, maybe the position of the foot is not what it's supposed to be...

I think it is, that's what I've heard at least. But I find I can keep up easier and since it's been so cold here I prefer the treadmill. But it's probably really bad for my knees. I also need to shoes because my plantars is acting up.

How long do you usually run for?

I usually run for 30 minutes. But last time, I didn't take enough time to warm up so I hurt myself. I learned my lesson !
For the moment I'm moving so I don't have time to exercise. It's really hard to stop all of a sudden. Sometimes I think exercising became an addiction for me...
I'm looking forward for next year when I'll have time to exercise!
