Great beauty buys from the USA????
I'm coming over to NYC in a couple of weeks and just wanted to ask about any great make up brands that i should look out for.

Also I love Paula's Choice stuff - which stores can I but it from???

I am a real skincare (suffer from acne) and a make up junkie so any top brands (drug or department store) would be gratefully recieved !

NYC (with credit card in my sweaty mitts!) here I come !!

Not sure if you can buy Paula's Choice in stores ... you can buy it directly from her. (I think her color range is boring )

You can try the Origins facial scrub, or the liquid blush from "Benefit"
These are easily available from Sephora.

Oh and anything from Stila or Nars, those are really good (in terms of staying power and effect).

Have fun in NYC

Benefit is a million times cheaper in America than it is in the UK, so take advantage of that,

Also, I'd stock up on Touche Eclat while you're there.

Have fun

Thanks girls.

I don't suppose anyone knows which is the largest Sephora to go to?

A friend of mine is going to NY soon and I'm having her bring back Prestige eyeliners and kohl (I had a look at mua and despite being a drug store label the eyeliners and kohls got rave reviews..so definately worth a try).

Laura Mercier is cheaper since it's an american brand (I swear by LM's make up primer)

Bobbi Brown neutral eyeshadows..

Becky_da_da_da why do you stock up on Touche Eclat in the states ? The label is french (YSL) so it should be cheaper in Europe

Posh Princess there is a huge on at Times Square ( I think..Sephoras website should be able to provide you with a list)

I've personally never stocked up on YSL in America - I just assumed it would be cheaper there considering everything else is

(How much is it in the states anyway?)

Oh Clinique is cheap in the states (naturally) but I'm not a big fan of Clinique

I don't like Clinique either. They do do good eyeshadows and a nice tinted lipbalm. I also use their serum for lips which is nice, but I just don't like their skincare in general.

If you have acne you should try Proactiv, i have heard wonders about it.
But from what i read there is a brand now that has the same system like Proactiv and besides beeing cheaper, is sold on drugstores in the US and it´s called Acne Free.

About makeup, i would buy stila, mac and benefit.
I have never been in the Us, but my guess is that i would go nuts buying stuff from every drustore!!! I love everything from drustores, like cheap brands, shampoos, moisturizers, etc

I spend an absolute fortune on makeup etc every time i go to the States. Clinique is about half the price (works for me!). Laura Mercier is about half price too and is phenomenal - get both the Secret Camoflague and Secret Concealer. The mascara is great too, and the creme brulee body moisturiser is yummy

The Neutrogena range in the States is about 5 times bigger than in the UK. I stock up on their Healthy Skin SPF 30 moisturiser and eyecream (tinted and untinted) as you can't get a good high-SPF daily moisturiser here. I also buy the home microdermabrasion system - it is AMAZING. They have a nice cream called anti-wrinkle anti-blemish which I stock up on too. Their hair care is nice too, it's called triple moisture.

Revlon have a much better range and is cheaper - buy skinlights powder which they discontinued in the UK. Bobbi Brown is *way* cheaper too.

Trying to think of higher end stuff....as the others said Benefit is great and roughly half price. Try the Hoola bronzer. Frederic Fekkai haircare is gorgeous, you can get it in Sephora. NARS, Stila and Kevin Aucoin also much cheaper. Oh and buy the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers - they're the best and much cheaper over there. Paul Mitchell haircare and Revlon haircare is way cheaper too.

I'm jealous now, can I come in your suitcase?!?

Acne Free doesn't work I tried it for a bit when I had trouble getting my Proactiv, but it doesn't work nearly as well. Just an FYI
