Home Facial Peels/Microdermabrasion
Has anyone tried these at home, rather than going to a salon?
If so, would you recommend them & what brand is best?

Hi Feline,

I tried the Lancome Resurface Peel, it was the first to come out around last September, and so was very expensive. But the quality was very good, as you would expect from Lancome (and the price, I paid around 260 Canadian dollars) and it lasted me two months of weekly uses. I haven't tried any others since then, but prior to the Lancome I had a medium peel at my dermatologist's office. The Lancome one gets approximately the same results, but over a gradual period so you dont peel all at once like dermatologist's office peels.
Let me know what you end up trying out

I have used the Loreal Microdermabrasion kit. I love it~found it works really well. Not sure how it compares to an office visit for microdermabrasion but it is definitely a cheaper alternative.

I find the l'oreal one makes me break out a little bit but its one of the most gentle ones i've tried. Doesn't make your skin flake or peel and there isn't any noticeable redness, i'd suggest only using it once a week though...

Bump!

misssakura (or anybody), how much does the L'Oreal peel run?

I saw in my Shape magazine Dior Capture Totale Peeling Lumiere... but it's way out of my price range..

Can anybody suggest an affordable peel, even something by St. Ives, possibly?

just started using Biore Skin Preservation microdem exfoliator and i must say its working quite well. the crystals are miniscule and it really peels off alot of the skin when you rub it in. im noticing a difference already, my scars seem to be fading. its a steal at the drugstore for $11

I use the Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion kit, and it's amazing. It's a little stronger/harsher than I would like though, so I use it once a week.

REALLY? i purchased the 2 piece microdelivery peel kit this past summer. i used it once weekly like 3 weeks in a row,as i have dry, sensitive skin and the results were (imo) mediocre. How long did you use it before you saw results? what sort of skin do you have? maybe i should get back on it, i still have a nearly full kit...

ps..is it good at reducing acne hyperpigmentation over time?

All these kits are reducing hyperpigmentation, but you have to use a daycream with on top of it a SPF 50 a++, and use it daily, also when you finished the microdermabrasion, otherwhise it will came back very quickly!
