Does anyone have recommendations for the VERY BEST sunscreen to use for acne-prone skin? I have consistently bad acne (I have 2 different prescription creams and have made numerous trips to the dermatologist) and I dread using sunscreen because it makes my face more oily than it already is.

If i put it over my makeup, it tends to mess it up and leave me with a greasy finish, and if I put it on under makeup, the makeup doesn't go on very well and it's hard to cover up my blemishes. So any specific recommendations for mattifying daily sunscreen?? Thanks!

^The sun-screen version of the Eight Hour cream by Elizabeth Arden (it's SPF 50). My skin absorbs this very quickly and it doesn't leave this nasty greasy film. There is also no problem using it under make-up. Avene might be an option as well, when you have such sensitive skin.

I use the Avene SPF 30, it's nice, it sinks in very quickly and is non greasy.

I use Alba Very Emollient. This will be my second year using it, I almost never buy the same suscreen two years in a row, but this one is good. I don't put makeup on over it though.
I think I might book myself for some Microdermabrasion this Friday!

I avoid eating mangos, squid and octopus they always make me break after a few days unless I eat a whole bowl of seaweed. A particular kind of seaweed has done wonders for my skin.

My mum tells me that foundation ages your skin, and so I'm try to limit the amount of foundation I use. Does anyone know any that are not so harmful to the skin?

Japanese sunscreens are what you're looking for. Those that comes with a ball inside the bottle and when you shake before use, u'll hear the ball hitting against the inside of the bottle. those usually dry matt, even slightly powdery. but they are notoriously hard to take off and you would need a makeup remover for that.

I think it is definitely true, foundation can age you a lot.
For me it was the other way round, my Mum always used foundation for "matured" skin and it aged her skin so much. I complained about it and bought her some lightweight translucent foundation and she just loves it.

As long as your skin is young and clear, a tinted moisturiser mixed with your day creme is all that's necessary. Otherwise I'd always go for sheer foundations to even out your skin tone and put on concealer where actual coverage is needed.

^Indeed. A lot of foundations suck the moisture right out of your skin...
