New product from Lancome... has anyone tried it, or is anyone planning on it? It looks promising, but with my Lancome experiences, there's only a 50% chance of it being a good product...

A sales assistant once told me that lancome and l'oreal are made by the same people and that the main difference is price tag. Does anyone know if there is any truth behind this?

LANCOME'S FAQ:

How does the Aqua Fusion technology work?

Ultra-charged with 16 essential elements, Aqua Fusion is designed to mimic skin's natural moisturization process. These elements are distributed continuously as skin enzymes break them down.

What makes Aqua Fusion "super charged"?

Aqua Fusion is formulated with 16 essential minerals that combine to create 'dynamic moisture complex,' which rehydrates skin with the basic elements it needs.

What are the 16 essential elements and how do they benefit the skin?

Amino Acids, which bind water in the skin:
•arginine
•serine
•citrullin
•histidine
•alanine
•threonine
•lysine
•glutamic acid

Organic Acids, which moisturize / treat dry skin:
•PCA (Pyrollidone Carboxylic Acid)

Sugars, known for their moisturizing effect and ability to capture water:
•mannitol
•sucrose
•glycogen

Lactic Acid, an effective moisturizer.

Calcium, for improved barrier function and collagen stimulation.

Zinc, an anti-oxidant known for improved skin healing and cell renewal.

Manganese, an anti-oxidant known for collagen synthesis and healing.

What form of sunscreen is used in Aqua Fusion?

Both chemical (Octinoxate 7.5%) and physical (Titanium Dioxide 1.7%) for UVA and UVB protection.

Are both the Lotion and Cream oil-free?

Yes.

Softie mentioned something about this once... and lots of people on MUA rave about L'Oreal. Hmm.

Lancome is just under the L'Oreal Group, and from my own experiences, lots of products by Lancome work great on me, but barely any by L'Oreal.
for example, Estee Lauder and Shiseido also has many brands under it's group, but that doesn't mean they are all equal to EL or Shiseido

sounds great, I'll give it a try after I'm finished (hopefully) with the tremendous amount of skincare products I've got now

I've always loved most Lancome products, they are fabulous on me

sounds like Lancome's equivalence to Chanel Hydramax+or EL HydraComplete

Actually I just bought this last weekend and have been using it for a week now. My skin stays hydrated all day, but not oily. I used to have dry patches when I would look in the mirror in the afternoon, and now I don't have them anymore. And it didn't make my sensitive skin break out either.

BTW - I tried the lotion. I may do the cream come wintertime.

And I have heard the rumor about Lancome and L'oreal being the same company, and also the same company as "No Name" Cosmetics which allow independant retailers to purchase blank cosmetics and put their name on it. Although, I do think the cosmetics and the skin/hair-care products are separate.

I've been using it for a few days and love it. The moisturizer is very light and I get the SPF protection too.
