My idea of makeup is that nobody should know you're wearing it. So why not?

I think that people should do what they feel like. I personally don't wear makeup, but if a person rocks makeup and looks confident and the makeup is aesthetically pleasing, who cares what the sex is? Ale is a good example of this. If you look at the pictures of us thread, his makeup looks cool and he looks like the most confident person in the world, so it works. Its weird though when people put on makeup and you comment and they pretend they aren't.

I think the make-up made him look more alive. You really could not tell almost.

I feel that it depends on the man who would be wearing it. There are some men that can carry makeup really well even when it's just a tad bit noticable. It's beautiful... but I'm just crazy about androgyny. I think that most men who wear it just for reasons of enhancement other than having to based on doing it for print, media, or theatre are the ones that naturally carry it well.

A lot of you have provided good arguments. It's just a social convention and there isn't anything morally wrong with it if the purpose is just to look better so why not. I don't see it becoming a major societal problem anytime soon.

IMO - makeup for men is great if the man is for makeup.

A corporate press release, but with some interesting factoids:

THANKYOU!! American's have to understand everything by putting it into a box a keeping it there. That is a very stupid and ignorant way to live. Makeup is only a product, and to look "normal" with it, regardles of gender, is imposible. Yes I am a man that loves the spackle, but makeup is NOT sacred, and it is only MARKETED to females.

I'm not into girls who wear too much make up. If they can wear a little and make it look really hot that turns me on. I dont think it's a right or wrong thing, just a what's your thing kind of thing. When I was younger doing the goth club, punk, whatever thing I wore makeup (at times). And If I"m going out or at a party I'll see people with make up. Whatever. But I understand if a girl says their not into guys that wear make up. Thats an opinion. Thats cool. I'm not into girls that wear (too much) makeup. But it depends on the crowd you hand with. It's not really an issue, or a 'statment' about anything with the people I would hang with. yeah it's 2005. You know. It's sort of over. But everyones got there type. And that's important too.
make up is fun. dressing up crazy sometimes in whatever way that means to you, is fun. yayyyy! If you think about it, all those sports dudes wear face paint when they want to get crazy,,, you know, it just what your into guess.
but as far as like everyday kind of stuff, It's ok, but it seems sort of weird.

I agree. Unless I'm dating any of the guys from Greenday, or Dave Navarro (and he's off the market), I prefer my man not to wear it.
