This look was mentioned in the previous topic...
Does anybody have pics of this look?

You put nothing on, or you wear something to get the lips to look matte?

Does anybody like this look? Doesn´t it look like the lips are dry?

slightly puzzled princesita

i really love matte lips if you do them correctly --- you would be putting something on your lips usually a matte lipstick or a lip stain there were some pictures in a recent issue of elle mag that showed matte lips on some crazy colors but it still looked really good actually i really like colorful matte lips sorry i couldnt find a pic but these are the products elle recommended YSL rouge personallipstick in shocking pink,L'oreal volume perfect lipcolour in bursting bordeaux,&Trish McEvoy essential pencil in sweet berry--- they will give you a matte lip because they arent glossy but use a non greasy balm before you apply them so your lips dont look dry - a lot of makeup brands have whole lines of matte lipsticks so go out and try some crazy ones

I sometimes like the matte look but I find that my lips dry out too quickly.

Mine end up looking too dry and yucky! Maybe I'm not doing it right?

I do the matte look sometimes, like if I'm going out and am wearing lots of eyeliner. Something to tone down the lips and draw more attention to my eyes. But to me, my lips are an odd pink (I'm enemic) ... so I always need some type of color on them.

I am a big user of liquid foundation. I put two dots on my lips, blend, and then put some Chap Stick or something of the sort on them to keep them coated, but so they aren't glossy. Sometimes I do add gloss, however...depending on my look, mood, clothes..

I like it as long as it's not pushed to extremes. I esp. love the look the matte red lip look at the Anna Sui show.

It looks awesome with dark smokey eyes for a night out.

a matte lip, especially RED, is so classy.
my favorites for this look are dior's dolce vita red lipstick, aswell as premier rouge and star red by chanel

i'm a sucker for matte effects. the proper way to do this and avoid it from drying out is by applying your face foundation as a base coat, and then applying the matte based lipstick on thickly to add a bit of moisture.

it looks fab and really sophisticated.

i made a post recently on the judging panel at the Miss Universe pageant, and what the two model judges were wearing, you know the bright red lipstick in a matte sort of finish looked abosolutely amazing.

you should give it a try in the classic red or even a matted fuschia which i remeber seeing in one of the new york fashion shows.

What also i feel looks great paired with matte lipstick, is an extremely glossy tint all over the eyelids in either clear or a wicked bronzed look. it looks soooo great.

i do like a matte mouth, but for some reason im only partial to a RED matte mouth ( UD redlight ) ......i have to exfoliate and condition. just make sure you do that. and that the lipstick is conditioning too.

I wear that look a lot, because I use Revlon ColourStay and CoverGirl Stay Put or whatever it's called. I love them, but the glosses included don't really do much. Sometimes I think the glossy look is much nicer and natural and that's when I wear Revlon SuperLustrous or MAC lipglasses....which only last about half an hour I've found!
