Spinning
Okay I've recently become interested in taking spinning classes. But I don't know too much about it just that it involves riding a stationary bike of some sort. I know I read that Mischa Barton takes spinning classes. Anyways can ya'll give me some feedback about this exercise? Pro's, Con's and around how much it cost to take classes? Thanks!

Spinning is,indeed,a class done to music on a special kind of exercise bicycle. You can vary the level of your own exertion by varying the resistence on the bike.

It really gets the heart pumping and is a great calorie burner. Most gyms have classes which you can attend as part of the regular membership fee.(over here anyway).

Unfortunately, after twice a week for 6 weeks I am beginning to notice an increase in the definition of my quadriceps muscles,so I am stopping .Changing to running instead!

I LOVE spinning classes--no other type of exercise or class makes me feel so rewarded once I finish. It's like 45 minutes of cardio and you control the level of resistance and how hard you want to work. I have found that in that class I really do want to work that much harder so it all works out.
The music really gets you going-it's a great calorie burner. My gym charges $20 per month-but they are still paying for equipment. (Spinning was just introduced to my gym not too long ago).

Ahhh, spinning. I remember when that was "all the rage" a couple of years ago, kind of like pilates last year... not that I agree with workout trends or anything.

Spinning is an awesome workout. You'll get out of it what you put into it.

^ If you're looking to tone your behind... I have the PERFECT exercise, apart from cardio.

K. Get down on all fours... hands to the ground, knees to the ground... then slowly raise your right leg up, keeping your foot parallel to the ground as you raise. I must admit, I get compliments mostly on my... err... rear, more than anywhere else, because I think I've found what tones it best. It really helps to do a few different exercises that tone different spots in the area.

I've seen people in the spinning class at the gym and it doesn't look easy. It seems quite hard actually. Be careful.

I love spinning, I go twice a week at my gym. I like it because it's so effective even though the classes are only 45-55 min- perfect for someone who doesn't have a lot of free time. And as FashionFix mentioned, afterwards you feel so rewarded.
