It is totally obnoxious isn't it! I looked at these stretch marks, it's almost like the old stretch marks are stretching further... However I bought some bio-oil and while I don't believe bio-oil actually works, I have been applying it to the new stretched stretch marks and it seems to be causing them to lapse into the old ones without the blazing redness...the other leg that has a tiny mark from a similar situation turned red not white. I think it's the massaging stimulating collagen production or something but just so you know when you get a random stretch mark next time try it and it might just work.

ETA: I don't know about Melfreya but I'm 21 so I don't think I suddenly grew thighs or anything. I obviously realize stretch marks can come from the change in your body shape during puberty - that's where the majority of mine came from. I guess I could be building muscle in my thighs from more activity or something.

yeah; mine are also only when things are "squashed" as you say. haha. it's hard to explain. But with me it's when I ut my leg backwards or sth, then the ski gets pushed together and you can see all the lines.
My stretch marks aren't tiny lines though. they're really sort of wide and they start at my hipbone and then all over the side of my butt to my "butt bone" (I don't know the name haha). there's not just one, I'd say there's about 10 of those lines (sort of running parallel) on each side of my butt.

I showed them to my derm and she said they weren't that bad?! she's crazy

thanks for the info kisa,it's exactly the same with me!!!!!..I'll give it a try!
and melange,I already know about all the facts you mentioned..thing is none of them applies to me..my body has been the same for the last 4-5 years,no bigger anywhere,no growth spurt..i'm 25 and about the muscle, well,my activities have stayed exactly the same-exercise 3 times a week from I don't remember since when..and I do moisturize religiously everyday..
so you can imagine my horror when new ones appear..

I have the worst stretch marks on earth, they are all over my upper thighs, hips, calves, and back of arms. I got some during puberty, then weight flucuations. So pathetic!

Yep, that's exactly what I have. It looks so nasty.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you didn't know, it was just what you posted reminded me of annoying questions I have had about being fat or having been fat and I had a bit of a rant!

That is really strange. Are you sure your skin isn't trying to pull itself off of you? I honestly can't think of any other way you could be getting these stretch marks unless your exercise has added muscle and you haven't noticed because of it being a slow change. Though I think most people have pictures of themselves and would notice differences.

Exercise has REALLY helped fade mine. I know they can never really go away completely, but mine are SO much better. At this point, I think they've also faded with time. I'm only a teen and got them from being a competitive figure skater with big, muscular thighs!

^Wow! Figure skating did it to you.

Mine is just from inactivity. I'm sure the stretching won't go away completely even if I do work out, but I'm sure it'll fade them as skin gets tighter.

I'm still trying to diminish mine. I'm currently using shea butter.

haha yup! I always use the elliptical trainer which really targets that part of your leg anyway (inner thigh for me), so it definitely helped to fade them. Consistency is the key though, seriously...if I haven't worked out for a week they look much more noticable!! Guess I should work out this week then.....

^^ I've been so on/off with working out. But I'm scared that if I lose weight, the skin that's been "stretched" will squash up together and look even more ugly. Because when I squeeze the muscle, I notice the scars just bunch up and look even more obvious. The skin has basically been damaged so it's not likely to tighten up is it? Or be smooth? I only gained 8-10 pounds and yet.... there are so many scars. It all happened so fast.

My sister got stretch marks recently bc shes 6 months preggers so I decided to do some research.
Here's a page that might interest you guys.
http://www.squidoo.com/how_to_get_rid_of_stretch_marks

it pretty much gives a thumbs down to bio oil. And has people that have tried the product rate it.
I just ordered her some Revitol. I'll let you know if it works.

I started using bio oil 2 weeks ago and my skin totally broke out with really small, red pimples. Too bad I purchased 3 bottles....
