I've never had a pedicure before. I've read too many articles about women who develop some sort of fungus on their feet after getting pedicures at unsterile salons. I'm also nervous about someone else touching my feet. I use scrubs on my feet at home and moisturize but maybe I should be doing more... I don't want people to think I have gross feet when I wear sandals in the summer. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I've read the same kind of things in magazines too. Just make sure that the salon has a good repuatation.
I used to be a nail technican and i was obsessed with my nails but now i've calmed down and have very simple short chic nails.

there is no way id be caught with icky nails.... EVER. if anyone does consider them icky there must be a deeper reason behind... ... no, actually that'll never happen.

my nails grow extremely fast so i need maintaining once to twice a week!

however, they are always kept short and chic and square . i dont like super long and pointy nails

colorwise. usually french on hands and depending on outfit and shoes some kinda color.. lately its been ELECTRIC PINK by Mavala

I'm the opposite of Leyla. Right now, my nails are torn up! I've been doing a lot of yardwork in the evenings right when I get home from work, and all weekend long, so I have dirt completely ground into my cuticles and big old calluses on my palms and the base of each finger. I keep my nails cut super-short (to the quick) because otherwise I will bite them.

Of my feet, the less said the better. I cut my toenails, and that's about it. Nobody is seeing my feet--they don't get let out into the light of day! They're UUUUUGLY!

Nothing is polished right now, though sometimes in the winter, when I am doing less DIY and gardening, I will paint my nails, but it is almost always some tasteless and wretched, unnatural and insane color, like purple, orange, silver, or metallic yellow-green. Because I am always doing something with my nails, the polish invariably gets dents in it before it dries and gets chipped and scuffed up by the next day anyhow, then it looks horrible, and I get the fidgets and scrape it all off with a thumbnail.

I suck at being a girl!

I've actually never been to the salon to get my nails done. I'd like to one day though, when I feel like splurging.
Since I wanted to do myself up a bit today, my fingers are now black, while my toes are pink with little black hearts. :P

i'm hopeless when it comes to doing nails.. whether on myself or anyone else. i just suck

my nails are too short right now so i'm going to wait until next week to get them done. i always get french but with black. as in my nails are black with a white tip. not the other way around. i'm thinking about doing black with a red or white design though.

on my toes.. i have a regular french pedicure

i find that for girls in the US there is absolutely NO excuse to have I M M A C U L A T E nails. manicures/pedicures are so cheap that noone can really escape them..

in NY i had mine done for 10 dollars with a shoulder massage included

over here i pay 45 EUROS !!!!!!!! and i still get them done..

there is nothing worse than unmantained nails IMO (and teeth)

Depends if I dont have time to go have them dont or if I'm just doing nothing that week except classes I paint them myself, plus I find it relaxing and great "me" time.

Other than that I get em done...

For the past month though I haven't been able to paint or have them done I've been so busy..

And I'm one with a reputation for absolute nails...

I'm gonna get them done for prom though..just mani and pedi..I never put acrylics..they feel weird and ruin the real nails

I dont need them anyways, my friends and I did a envy survey and put which of our friends bodyparts do we envy...my most enviable part was my hands, feet and nails.

Huh. There is an excuse--some of us do a lot of messy work with our hands that would ruin a manicure, no matter how inexpensive it is to have one done!

Yes, well... Lets just say I wouldn't want leyla to scrutinise my grooming habits. :P

And I mean that in the nicest possible way, leyla; you seem to pride yourself on being perfect any time; that's commendable.

uhm , not too sue how i should understand that.. cos im certainly NOT always perfect. . far from it. i just set myself standards like evryone else does.
i might often look unpolished from the outside, but there are a few things one does for themselves which make them feel better.... one of them is having my nails done. (another one having my dentist work on my teeth )
i remember when i was small my bro always teased me when i had paint or dirt on my hands or nails from kindergarten days. that stuck in my head and ever since im paranoid i guess

but to tell you the truth, yes i do get disgusted if im eating with someone and i have to look at nails... but i only thought thats normal.. if its not, then its only me.

I like subtle colour. At the moment, I've got Opi's Hopelessly in Love on my toes. Pretty pink toes. I love it!
