Yves Saint Laurent will launch in October. Like last year's L'Homme Yves Saint Laurent, the new fragrance is geared towards a young market.
Opening with citron and lychee smoothed by peony, the fragrance follows with a vibrant heart of jasmin sambac and pink berries and ends with woody notes of patchouli and vetiver. In its brief to the perfumers, YSL described a modern and urban woman, very feminine but with a touch of the masculine...

I guess we'll have lots of descriptions of the scent long before we have a chance to test it for ourselves. Another blogger writes, "The scent is described as a woody, spicy, and floral scent. It was created by Jacques Cavallier and Olivier Cresp of Firmenich.......".

I don't like the bottle design, it is far from YSL standard, & the juice notes sounds too commercial for me.....I just can't compare it with the other YSL iconic fragrances.
I´m not keen on the bottle design either, I love the colour and I could live with its shape, but to me there´s something wrong with the typography placing, as a whole it lacks the characteristic Saint Laurent grandeur, but yet again it is a perfume marketed for the younger generation, my only complaint is that why most of the times designers and marketing people think of young as simple and boring, as if that segment wasnt interested in a more luxurious, more special product, specially comming from a house like Saint Laurent.

this is not Mr. Saint Laurent standard, there is somthing wrong with this bottle... so cheap looking.
I feel that Tom Ford did better than Stefano Pilati in the perfumes sector for YSL, I mean how to forget NU, M7, Rive Gauche PH, Cinema & the gorgeous summer editions, the stunning ad. campaigns & the chic bottles.
I always had the idea that cinema was done with Pilati designing, but now that I remember Michel Alves was wearing those crystal black and white shoes at the advertising by Ford.
Does Pilati have a voice when it comes to taking choices on the perfume division at Saint Laurent?

‘Elle’ is modern, chic, urban, and just a shade bohemian. A free and singular woman, steeped in art, a muse, bold, in love… ‘Elle’ is the new perfume from couturier Saint Laurent, coming in October. The name echoes their successful men’s scent L’Homme, launched in 2006. The fuchsia-pink bottle reveals a fresh, floral-woodsy juice, with notes of patchouli, Bourbon vetiver, citron, litchi, peony, pink pepper and freesia, designed by Olivier Cresp and Jacques Cavallier.
I've sniffed 'elle' yesterday & it is Stella Mcartny + patchouli - which represent the masculine touch- , very disappointing even the SA at YSL counter complained that YSL used to be a trend setter & know it follows the others, it is too thick & makes me uncomfortable.
the bottle looks better in real due to the bright fauschia but it is too pricy a 50 ml bottle worth 90$ !!! what a shame to YSL history & Jacques Cavallier too who could have created somthing better. .
the SA told me that Stefano Pilati has no control on the beaute sector unlike Tom Ford who used to take responsiblty on the aroma, packaging & campaign.

I knew it, it doesn´t look like something he would have done, I hope he will be given the task in next projects though.
