I like the light blue suede ones a lot more than the black/mirrored ones... they look a lot fresher.

I have the ones with the silver platform and I love love love them... I think they are my favorite shoe after my balenciagas. They are comfortable and look great with everything. I feel bad I'm not wearing any of my other shoes now. I would love to get the blue suede ones as well but they would get dirty so quick.

My only complaint is that the silver is just a strip of leather and not actually metal. I have no doubt the silver will wear off especially when the streets are covered with salt, but I suppose it wouldn't be hard to replace the strip.

has anyone bought the atacoma boot yet?

i am so lusting these bad boys, especially in the black/brown colourway.

I am a little skeptic though, as I am super clumsy in heels, let alone a platform this elevated!!

Also, has anyone seen the tanami boot in stores yet? (flat, mid calf boot)

and lastly, does anyone know of any Aus stockists that stock the footwear line? besides the ACNE store on glenmore rd, sydney?

TIA xx

This is my debut to this thread. From a previous "Yay or Nay?" deal, I found out that the Acne "Atacoma" wedge boots have become quite popular. Here are some links to these shoes if you don't know which ones I'm talking about:

* http://shop.acnestudios.com/system/s...ct.asp?id=2975 (Black w/ brown bottom, leather)
* http://shop.acnestudios.com/system/s...ct.asp?id=2974 (Cloudy Blue, suede)
* http://www.chictopia.com/photo/show/142215-acne-boots (black w/ white)
* http://www.nitrolicious.com/blog/200...ck-metal-wedge (Black Metal)
* http://www.mtv.com/photos/its-on-wit...33/photo.jhtml (Black Metal, as worn by Alexa Chung of MTV's "It's On With Alexa Chung")

Especially in black with the white bottom, those seem more like a good pair of SNEAKERS rather than an "elegant" shoe, as some Acne describes these. I think they look pretty cool. The platform is about 1.77 inches off the ground (4.5 cm). I just don't know about wearing these for some kind of formal looks. I'm thinking bootcut or flared jeans or perhaps some casual pants. If anything, I almost wish these were sneakers and designed like sneakers rather than these leather boots. Especially the black/white Atacoma boots would make fairly decent sneakers. The black/brown combination is really versatile. Don't know who'd chance wearing a proper business outfit and wearing these shoes.

While I like these leather boots, I dislike these in suede (Cloudy Blue). So for the record, I think these popular booties are pretty cool.

the sneaker concept was conceived by dries van noten in spring 2008 and i agree, john, it was done very well. i like the acne shoe very much and like what he did with the nipped square toe.

I loved those thick leather sandals I saw over in the Mens Footwear thread.

Looking at the other Acne shoes, most of the others aren't lovely. Those Atacoma boots are the only real Acne shoes I like.

These are the ones Tory Burch was wearing. So subversive!
