^ I also love my frye harnesses. They really do last forever, through many snow and rainstorms. Worth every penny.

My only issue is that my calves are a bit bigger because I'm an athlete, and the harness boots cut off just enough to make my calves look a bit bulky. I plan on investing in some taller fryes someday...

If you think the grey will go better with your wardrobe, get the grey. I don't think they're going to look outdated or anything. I have the black ones because I wear so much black, and never wear brown. I have gone on and on about how great they are because they really are the best thing I've bought maybe ever fashion wise. They have gotten so comfortable yet I always look chic. I am in the city this weekend and have them with me and finally solved the problem of looking good but being warm and comfy too!!

Someone had asked earlier about a modeling shot of the Frye Paige Cuff boots - this is a real life shot of the 'olive' version from Free People.

do you guys like the harness style? for my birthday i really wanted the engineer or veronica slouch. i emailed pictures and everything...but i got the harness 12R. i'm a little unsure about the square toe and don't know if they're chic enough for me. and i don't want to hurt the feelings of the one who gave them to me...

so can i make them work? or are they terrible?

I have those harness boots in brown and I love them. I used mink oil on mine to make them a bit darker and to keep the leather in good condition. I always get compliments on them.

I don't think you can really go wrong with the harness to be honest. They are a classic style, and while I was also hesitant about the square toe, I definitely think it gives them a more 'authentic' feel ie. more rugged. They really will work with anything

i like the harness boot in everything BUT black. the black one is just too "biker" for me especially with the silver hardware instead of say, tarnished brass. also, i'm not a fan of square toes. personally i like the Veronica slouch boots more....they're almost like a softer version of the harness boots.

I've never hated the harness style (Post #246). It's a nice touch to boots like these. Black may be "biker," but it's still fairly basic. Brown is also a very acceptable color. Only deal is that you'll still need to find a nice top + bottom combination. The extra silver harness loop may shift any attention of your overall look to your boots. So you may have some accessorizing issues with those boots. Otherwise (though I secretly shown my disapproval of Frye Boots in general), those are some nice boots.

The Veronica doesn't have a full rubber sole like the Engineer.

And just by looking at pictures, the Veronica looks less rugged. I have the Engineer. The heel is thicker and so is the front where your toes are.

You should check out pics of both of them on zappos.com. They have plenty of pics from all angles.

everytime I pass my paige riding I feel sad since it's too warm to wear them I think it's time start thinking about what pair I'm going to add this fall.

Does anyone know where I can find the Sunny Multi-strap in black, in a US size 8.5 or 9? I wish I had grabbed the sunny cuff's when they were out but it seems as if those are gone.
