Heels doesn't mean Stilettos

Guys,

Your thoughts on these? From Archie Eyebrows (by Terry & Liz de Havilland).

Really comfy to wear, but needed a size up.

I have some similar, without patent. I wear them in the office mostly with a bit tighter trousers and when my really high heels are not appropriate. My male colleagues find them funny. And I just tell them that I love taller women ...

Jeffery West

I have a couple of pairs of the ubiquitous YSL Jonny Boots which work great with jeans, or giving a more edgy look to a slim fit suit. However I have also been on the look out for something a little bit more suitable for the office.

A few weeks ago I went to the Jeffery West shop in Piccadilly. After trying on several pairs, I brought a pair of these in a black/pewter colour (colour not shown on their web site) which have a heel around 2 inches high.

They have a red sole (much more red than the attached picture shows) and metal taps under the end of the toe to reduce wear. (Pic's from Jeffery West.)

Jeffery West also have some very cool boots. My lady liked the look of these (which had a slightly higher heel) on me, but I was out to buy for work, so I stuck with the shoes.

RobbieD, I don't really like the heel shape on these shoes. The shoes are fine, but the heel style is too much of a block. It should have a little shape to it, slight taper to give a Cuban type look and it would be much more stylish and less like an afterthought or just a quick reaction to a trend. As to the trend, then these are WAY too low, 7cm is easily available and higher is coming.

Shaq91, forgive me please. I do admire your perseverance for the "guys should be able to wear what they want" brigade, but neither 6" heels, strappy sandals nor stiletto heels either seperately or in any combination will make it to most mens wardrobes for wearing outside of the house (they may be there, and probably are, for other reasons of course). There are very few guys who have the right body type to be able to put the andro look off, however those that do can rock the gender f*** look really well. It will remain niche.

However, proper stylish mens shoes with more masculine styled heels, such as Cubans, will become more mainstream.

HFMROK.

Jak & Jil
I think that men in heels is really fun if done in an interesting way the outfit needs to match the shoe and I think that the more mod style like Hedi Dior Homme boots or the Johnny boots by YSL are fabulous and classic but I think stilettos just don't work with masculine clothing. The guys in this photo are really rocking the heels.

this thread is hilarious, i think men in heals is an idea that should be embraced more by those brave enough like those french fashionistas from L'Officel. I love it. I'm going to order some tomorrow!

I don't mind the idea. I think stilettos rally can make legs look great. But, like a lot of fashion, you need the right body, style and personality to carry it off. Personality? Yeah I might have that? Style? I have enough expenses and luxuries in my life without adding high-end footwear to to it...

Count me as one of the ones who would look ridiculous... To those who can pull it off... All the more power to ya.

Men in stiletto heels

I started this thread after seeing a picture of quentin tarantino in stiletto heels a couple of months ago. After that I began noticing them in editorials in fashion magazines. In this thread I want to collect en discuss pictures from fashion magazines with men in stiletto heels.

I noticed that there is a men in heels thread. But I don't want this thread to be a discussion of men in heels in general. In the other thread I've noticed that even 'normal' men's shoes with a tiny heel are discussed. This thread is - i repeat - for professionally styled images from fashion magazines.

here's the tarantino pic from a Jean-Baptiste Mondino shoot in the New York Times (May 2009). Styled by Arianne Phillips
