unfortunately, you can't always go by the price listed in the magazines. the magazines are printed way before the shoes hit the stores and before the shoes are even produced. a lot of times they are using runway samples, and the pricing isn't always accurate. i wish you could, but you can't.
if that were the case, i would have been able to get the runway versions for $685. i went to barneys yesterday and the patent t-strap with the cone heel was $800 plus tax, and jeffrey had the sandal in satin, not patent for $785. jeffrey also had the lanvin sandal with the thick wooden heel and platform with the metal plate, and it had a snakeskin strap. this style was over $1500. these were all with much shorter heels than the runway versions. sad.

The open-toe red sandal I posted a few days ago was for $895 plus tax at Ikram. The green ones I ordered are $800 plus tax.

^ yikes! that is way too high of a markup from the original 685 that the runway-high versions should've cost!

that's really odd... lanvin's website says that the t-strap IS available in turquoise... ... they really need to get their crap together...

the website also shows the satin sandal in the catwalk height:

but the closed-toe pump in the shorter heel:

i digress.... while $900 really is quite a price to pay for these shoes, it's all up to you, really, and if you're willing to pay it. they are beautiful shoes.

I have to say even though I like some of these shoes, the ones Lindsay is wearing are very, very ugly.

I love these shoes and I may be ruining my chances of getting them but it seems a certain store is getting a shipment of them next week....

Cathy Horn wears them in today's NYT article

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/04/13/fa...=1&oref=slogin

THIS was going to be great, I told myself. I was going to march into Michael's on West 55th Street, wearing the highest heels to come out of Paris, Lanvin's peep-toe stilettos with five-and-a-half-inch cone heels and a two-inch platform, and they were all going to look up from their Cobb salads with demiportions of Roquefort and well, it was going to be great....
