Overpriced, but some of the outsole molds for shoes like that can cost a fortune - years ago I developed a lucite outsole in Italy - the mold cost was £27,000 before we even made a single pair of shoes! Because we were mass producing, I think we did about 30,000 pairs, we managed to sell it at a reasonable cost, but if you are selling at a designer level, you might only sell a few hundred pairs, so the cost per sole is incredibly high. That LV metal handbag, the mind boggles how much the molds would cost to produce it.

This has to be the most airheaded comment I've read here in a long time. I hope you're not serious?

WORLDS MOST EXPENSIVE SHOES - THE 'REAL' RUBY SLIPPERS?

World's most expensive shoes go on display

A pair of sandals, which have gone on display at a Tokyo department store, are believed to be the most valuable shoes in the world.

Based on the pair of ruby slippers worn by Dorothy in Wizard of Oz, they are worth about £920,000.

The sandals are studded with 690 rubies and were made for an actress to wear at the Oscars.

But the sandals were never worn as Oscar stars decided to dress-down for the ceremony because of the Iraq war.

They are worth 50% more than the previous record holders which were also designed by Stuart Weitzman.

That pair were woven from platinum thread with 464 diamonds set in pure platinum and were worn at last year's Oscar's ceremony by Mulholland Drive actress Laura Harring.

I guess the most expensive shoes are the ones that someone buys for a lot of money when they don't need to - they could just as easily buy for less and contribute the rest. ... in a perfect world.
