there is something about them that simply fascinates me. basically its a masculine design with a feminine twist, and they can be really sexy. a very underrated and underappreciated style, at least today.
myself, i have about 7-8 pairs (haven't taken the time to personally count). i have a couple pairs left over from hs, but they aren't really anything special (chunky heeled, plain or mocassin toed, not very expensive) but i started really digging them a few months after i started college. i bought a few pairs of stilettos over the past several months, although i don't wear any of them all that often. i wear my chunky oxfords a couple of times a week in the fall and winter, though.
any other girls here that like them, or at least own/have owned them?
I love the top 2 pairs and the plum chanel ones I can imagine them looking great with a pair of long office shorts and black tights. If I could afford them thats the type of shoe I'd love to wear. The more I look at them the more I love them. A great masculine edge to them.
Yes, I have a pair of black suede with black satin laces that I intend to pull out for fall. They have a little stacked heel. I had a pair of brown ones (tobacco) in college that had a bit of wing-tip trim ... I loved them so much I wrote a paper about them for my Description and Narration class I also had a flat black and white pair that looked like 30s women's golf shoes or something.
It's a great style that we really don't see enough of. One nice thing about it ... I absolutely hate both on my feet and others to see toes hanging out of shoes. With an oxford style that can't possibly happen.
