From what I can tell, I think a white/navy "sailor" dress would match nicely. Try to steer from wearing all dark colors as it would detract from the color of the sandals. Even a pair of khaki or white shorts paired with a navy shirt or jacket would look good.

I'm thinking of purchasing this dress but I need the right kind of shoes to go with it that don't cost a fortune (i.e, $300+). I'm thinking I want a black mid-calf boot with a chunky heel but I can't find anything

Here is the dress:

cutxpaste, I found some options that might work for you. I think that dress is really cute, it has a flirty feel to it.

first two are moma and marc by marc respectively. yoox.com

second are from neimans.com and are kors.

I think I like the moma ones the best and they are in your range.

The first pair reminds me of a pair that Thomas Wylde did last fall.

cutxpaste, I'd stick to darker tones for boots. It's too easy for lighter shades to clash with such a unique dress, and if you're really concerned over it, it'd be best to play it safe.

That being said, I don't have any exact boots to recommend. I suggest visiting Zappos or Endless as they both usually have decent deals.

I like these Fiorentini and Baker ones. They're more expensive, but I like them.

^, Thank you, it's a Dries dress from Fall/Winter 06.07. The two seem to made for each other.

I am having a 4 day birthday weekend in vegas in October and as one of my night outfits, I wanted to wear this :

Is it too blingy? I mean afterall, its vegas and its my birthday!

All the reasons to wear them! You can get away with all of that bling in Vegas. Anywhere else I would say to go with something more toned down, like a strappy silver shoe. Have a lovely birthday!

exoticarbcqen: I agree with the ladies above me - Go for it! It's Vegas, dahling! Hehe. It's probably the only place you could pull something like that off. (And I don't mean that in a negative way.)

I think it's gonna be an awesome birthday!
