No to espadrilles. I like those chloe's a lot! They would look great with the dress. Are you going to be dancing or just hanging at the dance? That may make a difference in the heel height, width you choose.

uberchic, the red shoe would be a great pop of color and a neutral shoe would give you lots of leg so it most likely depends on where the dress hits your knee. but if you can go for a narrow heel with a little platform for added comfort since you'll be on your feet so much.
sissyneck, I use to wear those mocs with cut off shorts in high school, and they also go great with long denim skirts.
