I know this is an old thread, but it came up in the "Similar Threads" box.....

Suzi, Meg-Ann, ChanelGirl, y'all are driving me crazy!! I only wish I worked in your office(s)!

Seriously though, despite the fact that they look so spectacular, they can do damage over the years. I knew someone once who wore them all day, everyday (Stockbroker)through the 60's & 70's that ended up having foot surgery to reform her feet so she could walk without them; something about surgically breaking and resetting the bones on the outside of the feet near the two smaller, toes.

They had to do one foot at a time so she wouldn't be completely incapacitated during recovery.

Yes. Having done some heel research recently I think it is good for your feets health
1. not to wear them everyday, change with flat
2. don't wear them too long if you're overweight, it increases the pressure on your feet and legs
3. always buy well made shoes. I've tested shoes from cheap brands and they kill your feet after a short walk even in not so high heels, but with my italian 4" boots I can walk miles without much discomfort

I like to wear heels every day, from 2.5 to 4 inches, I think the important thing is to stick some extra padding in there under the ball of your foot, and to not wear the really high ones 3.5-4 inches EVERY day, I like yo switch it up a bit.

and reading the other posts, about six and seven inch heels, well thats just absurd. It's not physically possible for a shoe to have a heel that high without a platform. And at any rate anything above four inces crosses the line from fashionable to fetesh

You write that in spite of the evidence?

If it helps, every man in the world loves a girl in high heels.
Even the ones who pretend that they donít care.

However I do understand how painful or inconvenient it is, and that you cannot give us that pleasure everyday.

Are you wearing higher heels or lower heels this season?
Will your heels be going up or down this season?

My current mood is "fie on heels," as my feet are still sore from yesterday, and I have three blisters I never had before. My right knee still hurts, too.

2" heels, practically training wheels by most standards, and they messed me up but good.

Neither - I'll be staying at my maximum, as usual (wore flats today to do some house repairs, and my calves are killing me!)

The things is, I have been wearing them for many years now, and my feet are just blistered and bruised and I have pains and basically they are some what tore up looking from pointy toed 4 inchers... so I want to resort to comfort, at least for a little while...
