What is your favorite shoe trend & why?

I've just written a short piece for a magazine on my favourite ever shoe trend. It was really fun to do!

What is your favourite ever shoe trend and why?

the metallic stiletmine is a cross between the metallic stiletto sandal and the very high platform...they make women look incredubly sexy

Thigh high boots, tastefully worn. I like shoes that make a statement, to me they're the most important part of the outfit.

I don't care about "trends", but I like oxford heels.

Platforms for me. It increases the hight of heels, makes higher heels more comfortable to be worn for a long time and more accessible to short (5'2") people like me. The original YSL Tributes are the very best example of this (arguably a trend in itself considering its popularity).

For me as a mere man it was the introduction of the stiletto heel that allowed women to express the ultimate in grace and style. The shape of the heel accentuating the leg shape.

I hated the 60s for clumpy thick heels and the 70s for the severe plats and thick shapeless heels.

Todays plats are great and sensibly not too thick. 20mm is as much as they should go as otherwise they look bulky and inelegant. I concur with you Rosalynn, the YSL tributes rule.

I only have one critisism, and that is too many women try to wear high heels when they haven't learned how to walk in them. The image of grace and beauty is shattered in an instant if they cannot walk properly.

Don't know if it counts as a trend as such but I love boots with metal heels, although they are a nuisance if you lose a heel tip. Luckily my shoe repairer has the screw in heel tips as they only come with one set when you buy them.

The simple 5 inch heel black pumps - either calf, satin, croc, python... any material does it really, as long as the shoe looks something Newton would go crazy for.

Also overly-jeweled pieces and stuff that uses gravity a part of the design - dangling jewels, simple drapes etc.
