I'm strangely attracted to Kanye West in that video perhaps it's the lure of the ol' 1/2 tuck, and the fact that he has his back to the camera.
I'm not sure if I've seen this much in the UK (purposefully anyways) by anyone other than early teen boys trying to rebel against the 'shirts tucked in system' but if they're already 1/2tucked they can whip it back in if they spot a devil teacher on the horizon, but they still have their element of cool ....as it's not all tucked in, and the girls will still speak to them
that is EXACTLY kanye west's image...
his whole thing is that he is a 'college boy'...
he's wearing rugby's and schoolboy and collegiate style clothing all the time..
then he adds the cap and bling with some east coast attitude
and voila-~!...
street cred...
its ays:... i'm a good boy...
but not so good that i am boring...

I first noticed this look about 10 years ago, in one of TLC's very first videos ("Hat 2 Da Back")...Big baggy jeans, big baggy plaid shirts, half tucked in into their pants, with the belt-buckle undone..I still remember that look because I tried to copy that look back in 8th grade...
I always thought of it as the "frat boy look" in college...

hehe i wasn't doing an intentional half tuck, the half that seemed tucked was really bunched up in my sweater.
I'm personally not a fan of this look...some guys (e.g. Nicolas Tse, Hong Kong celebrity) look really forced when trying to pull it off. Kanye does it pretty well in the Gold Digger video though...it looks fresh w/ the Gucci jeans and crisp white shirt
This reminds me of the front-tuck, where gents tuck in the front of their shirts, usually to show off the belt-buckle, or whatever other eye-catching details lies in that vicinity...Now it's morphed into this 1/2 tuck...A prime example of the evolution of fashion.
