I guess it depends on your style, really.
If you're into the rock star look, a pair of converse seems like an important asset no matter what the time or trend. They have to be grungy though.
I suppose though, as far as trends go (and since this is the "Trend" section of tFS), I think they're finished.
I knew it once I started seeing the 8th graders around my neighbourhood wearing them.
i've had abou 10 pairs in my lifetime... right now i'm rocking with some yellow ones with turquoise laces and another pair that I painted a design on myself...
I'm not a fan (I wear heels all the time anyway).
used to wear them when I was younger, but not for the sake of "trend"
I never thought they were hot, and don't see them being over
more of a classic I'd say
They're classics...people who are getting them now for trendiness...whatev.
Everyone from street spraypainters to John Varvatos puts their own twist to em.
I have a few pairs and I'm actually wearing my classic very grungy black ones right now. I rarely wear sneakers(I wear mostly stilettos and sandals) but when I do I usually reach for one of my converse first before trying on any others I have.
Like a lot of you I thought they were just ...just unappealing and the red ones reminded me of clown/Ronald McDonald shoes. Then I tried a pair on.

I basically hate everything that is worn for the sak of trend....just wear things you like to wear not because other people like it when you wear them!

Welcome to the fashion spot Mr Dale
I hate how people are viewing these as fads instead of as classics which is what they really are. People around here have also been saying that they are a trend that are on their way out. I say screw that! I love how all of these old school style of sneakers are back in stores (not necessarily just converse allstars). I guess that means I can stock up on some old favourites once this "trend" is on its way out and everything will be on sale.
