I found instructions if anyone else likes to tie it this way:

greatestlook.com

I think it's more chic than the babushka style.

I totally agree. on the runway it looks forced whereas on Audrey it looks like she just put it on effortlessly and it looks good.

Yeah, it looks adorable on Audrey. Though I don't think many are able to pull this off. I tried it once, and I looked like a sausage that's wrapped in piece of fabric. So I won't be wearing sporting seen in this..

Also ,on the Runway, it looks like it is some giant cloths that are attacking the models.! at least in the first 4 pics.

looks great on audrey, but seems to be hard to pull off outside of a garden or kitchen...

i like the kelly-stlye posted in #16, especially when I'm in a cabriolet, unfortunately I am hardly ever in a cabriolet...

I think it's a good way to wear a skarf when it is snowing, cause it will make sense and is a nice change to the normal winter-cap

I think it really depends who wears the 'babushka'

Pucci has it too. Images from this fall's ad campaign.

Well the print rocks but I don't know if I'd wear it.
It's in editorials (don't know what mag, or photographer. I found the images randomly on the internet, in a person's online gallery):

From Stylebubble.com
And this is the source: MY OWN GRANDMOTHER wearing the babushka cover up every day!!! I'm sure she'd be excited to see it as a trend.

But I embraced this trend and look how I styled it in a photo shoot I did recently:

See all the pictures from the "Classics Never Die" photo shoot (styled and photographed by me) on my blog. Thanks!

Wow, you pulled it off!!

I think a "babushka" on a young woman, preferably a thin one, who has an irreverent wit, a certain demure quality or a smoldering sensuality can be quite effective in the 21st century.

By the way, not only Audrey, but also Jackie O wore scarves just like this quite a lot. She was also an icon and the epitome of class. So, I think it's a misnomer to call this a babushka look.

Wow it seems like designers are reaching deep into Eurasian cultures to find fashion inspiration. Maybe they should bring the kimono back while they're at it.

^I do remember seeing kimono sleeves last year
and there were a lot of robe-like things (jackets, blouses) with belts or sashes at the waist

dianabobar - I looked at your blog. i like the babushka but also all of the blog. you seem so talented! Styling shoots, photography, sewing, running an interesting style blog, plus you're cute to boot! What don't you do?

Also, I saw an older (age probably 50-70) woman wearing a silk scarf babushka style and looking totally normal and natural today in Chicago.

Also I have to say the black doublestrap mary janes on the "real" grandmother in a previous post are hella cute.

I know! I wanted those mary janes so badly!!! But they were too small for me! Grrrrrrr. So I gave them to my grandmother and she liked them a lot!
Thank you so much pinksatin.
