I know what you mean. And I always think it's weird how a lot of girls wear very plain or boring or cheap-looking outfits, then carry a super-expensive bag. It's like people think that an expensive bag or an expensive pair of shoes is what will make them look good or give them style. I will just never understand girls who buy all their clothes from stores like Old Navy or the Gap, then wear designer accessories at the same time. I saw a girl recently with an awful outfit and an LV bag. Does she think the bag makes up for her complete lack of style and taste in clothing?

^^yes, I understand what you mean.. And I agree that an expensive handbag doesn't mean you're stylish at all. The great example of that being the whole tracksuit thing with LV/Gucci logo bags and big logo sunglasses. What I meant is that I just think it's better to wear a plain tee and jeans with a designer handbag than to wear head to toe screaming designer logos and still looking tacky.. I think we agree at least I agree on what you said

i feel the same.

i will see a piece of clothing that i like and get all excited, only to put it back down when i notice the silly LOGO on it.

logos should be discreet, and in 9 times out of 10 they should be on the tag only!

im sorry, but for us perfectionists out there, a brand logo completely ruins the aesthetic of the piece.

i think that this is what some wearers hope this look means: ''i am rich and can therefore get away with wearing an old tracksuit out, i have probably just been at my pilates class overlooking the ocean anyway''

but it can sometimes come across as: "i scraped every penny to afford this bag. my outfit demonstrates that i have no fashion sense whatsoever, but my designer bag makes me look classy. doesent it? am i cool now?"

Yes, Therese and Copper, we're in agreement. Karma for both of you.

it seems quite obvious to me that fashion is a very versatilely usable concept. One certain function is to communicate that one belongs to a certain social class - that's what all these ugly logo print stuff is for. It allows certain individuals to silently scream out : 'look here I am newly rich or at least I try to look as if I were' The lack of other qualities like indiviality or aestehic beauty of these items implies to us that this silent scream is the only goal of the person who wears such a thing. which again points to a certain hollowness or at least a very onesided use of the possbilities fashion offers us. in this spirit : please hide

On a more serious note, I think one should choose one's clothes purely by aestehic preferrence and thus in the best case express a bit of one's personality with them. but it is quite hard to find nowadays especialy assesoirs without overvisible logos, because also fashion companies are global corporations with well thought out marketing strategies to earn more money. So to me logos are an evil one has to live with, but not someting one can be proud of. one can be proud of the choices one makes and how one puts them together etc - but logos - I just don't get it.....

i live in the country where 99% of logo-ed things you see on the street are fake - so i'm triyng to avoid them in eyewear, bags or shoes [not to speak on clothes]

I'm from Oberhausen which is in North-Rhine-Westfalia in the west. It's near Cologne and Düsseldorf, if that means anything to you.

I think that the only logo shirt I would wear (besides polos) would be the Ralph Lauren Pink Pony sweater. At least with that you are advertising for a charity and not just a designer.

Unless your purpose in life is to be a walking billboard, I don't see the point of showing ANY kind of logo... Whenever I buy something that has the tiniest logo ever, may it be on buttons, a little thing in a corner, I remove it, scratch it off....

I absolutely hate logos.... Tacky, ugly and pointless..
