thanks everyone for all of the jammies as daywear goodness
I've seen college age hipsters around Seattle rocking this trend and they pull it off quite well. wish i had a camera and the nerve to snap their photos! I love fashion and style but I usually slum it on my days off in my black leisure pants (aka black fitted pajama bottoms.) i'm sure i'm not foolin anybody but i'm always on the look out for uber comfy pajama style pants. the silk bottoms are an upgrade and would work nicely for when i wanna slink around and find even jeans to restricting.

Here's another take on PJ dressing from over 10 years ago: a loose, easy going, non-literal interpretation.
Love the soft, washed out, fluid fabrics. I see shades of 90s Missoni and Marc Jacobs.

I'm not into the "total looks" that magazines and stylists(?) tend to go for... I prefer the mix and match because it doesn't look as fashion victim-y.
This is absolutely an interesting trend. However whether or not it is good is a kind of debatable. Conceptually it is fine. I mean "pyjamas" are kind of just defined as loose fitted with piping details right? Mix and match is critical in my opinion, especially in a kind of "I'm being ironic and laughing at myself way". Otherwise, it is definitely way too fashion victim.
Going through Amanda Brooks' thread I noticed this outfit of hers.. the pants are more fitted than pajamas though but the look and pattern reminds me of this trend
