By looking at NYC shows, I have not seen anything good yet.

I've noticed an art deco vibe running through some collections, Poiret has been mentioned in a few Style.com reviews and I definitly see it in subtle doses. Even Marc Jacobs squeezed in some vaguely deco details in his jewelry and cloche hats.

I am loving this seasons collections! a big thing I'm noticing is the silhoueete. it is close to the body and is actually flattering

also I am noticing grown up sophisticated looks being prevelant

there are a lot of seqiuns, but all in muted colors so far

also I'm noticing capped sleves coming up in several collections

i love this season
very strong 20s,30s and a bit of 40s references , I guess designers got fed up of the 60s/80s influence which has dominated for many seasons

Elbow length patent gloves (I noticed them alot in the last fall collections, but they seem to really have taken off this season. I particually liked the harsh leather with the softer looser tops at Narciso Rodriquez)

Narciso Rodriquez

Marc Jacobs

Badgley Mischka

Zac Posen

I do really like it with the bare arms as seen as Narciso though.

I have to agree. Prada, Balenciaga, YSL. etc. seem to set the trends. At least the ones Anna Wintour publishes and that seems to trickle down, but that is a whole other debate...
