Catwalk Trends F/W 10.11
Time to start collecting some of the trends for next winter.

I noticed velvet in two of the most coveted shows in NYC: Alexander Wang and Rag & Bone. Interesting as I was just telling a friend how horrible it'd be to see people wearing velvet trousers again .. somehow it doesn't look as bad as I remember it.

Velvet was what instantly came into my head, too.

Oversized outerwear. You can also say the similar shape of these pieces which reminds me of an egg or cocoon:

Adding Zac Posen to the red wine velvet trend:

Wow, is this going to be a common trend throughout fashion week?!

Sleeves Too Long
I love this trend, there's something comfortable about the sleeves being a bit too long - like a favourite sweater that you wrap your cold hands in during the winter period.

I'd hate to be the person that's always bringing up the red velvet trend, but here it is again at Richard Nicoll!

I've noticed there are lots of dresses cut in the way like at these shows. They aren't all the same, but have a lot in common. Some seem to be sort of baby-doll, cut under bust, with some cut-outs under bust, or over, or on the sides, with separate bust area. Seems like it was started last season by Christopher Kane. Oh, and I love it

Velvet was spot on trend for A/W 2009/2010 and as you've all said, it definitely looks like it's to be on trend again this autumn.

Also, has anyone noticed the designers penchant for mostly balck and gray colouring shot through with yellow, red and blue? especially shoes!) For example at Cynthia Rowley's NYC show, Chanal Shanghai's Paris show and Lela Rose's NYC show. I tried to find pictures that I could put on here but I can't seem to be able to put them up :-s The pictures are on Vogue's UK website under fashion shows if that helps though...
