I have a pair of blue jeans from old navy. They were inexpensive and they've held up well.

for the neon-ish colored denim, its actually kind of funny how fast it was in and out. like, 2 months or something when i saw a ton of it, and now barely any.

I saw someone wearing purple denim overalls the other day -- in fact they may have been from Urban Outfitters? Anyway, colored denim is definitely trendy right now. Plus, they're better than wearing colorful leggings (in replacement of trousers, that is) imho.

Right now I have a pair of "azure" colored denim trousers, like Keira Knightley's:

They're really cute and I like them a lot. I'd even like to get a pair of yellow ones, too.

Colored denim doesn't mean stylish in most cases. This was around mostly in the 1990s with everyone, but mostly for little girls nowadays. I even owned a pair of jean shorts that were burgundy. The following denim colors are what most people consider to be perfectly normal:

* (any wash of blue denim)
* black denim
* khaki, beige, or tan denim
* white denim

Things just get a bit like the 1990s when you talk about various denim colors. I almost immediately think of a little girl's outfit in regards to denim colors other than the ones I illustrated before this paragraph. I've surely seen light pink jeans for girls. Denim is the best fabric in the world for many people. In terms of trying to come up with certain looks, I don't see it happening to perfection. I've seen most older women wear (for example) green jeans with some sort of brown shoes or brown boots. Do I see this working on a lady between the ages of, say... 18-25? Not really. Wearing something like turquoise jeans wouldn't be too bad. Turquoise is still a blue color, though more around green than blue.

On the other hand, I think multi-colored denim jumpers, dresses, and skirts would do just fine with different colors of denim other than the ones I mentioned previously. I've seen some ladies in my age range (18-25) wear some hot pink jeans. I think anyone who tries colored denim should try and carefully put together their looks so that there's an even balance of color. Some looks don't really look right with jeans of any different color than blue, khaki, black, or white. A light pink T-shirt with white jeans is very fine. A baby blue (non-traditional blue jeans) cropped denim jacket paired with a white T-shirt and matching baby blue jeans works well as far as color goes. A black shirt with tan jeans works well. Some other color combinations, however, seem too childish. Think of wearing an orange top with yellow jeans and white sneakers- that's a childish look to me. Out of place for most femmes at least 14 years old. Some color combinations seem too old (not discriminating). An example would be a white sweatshirt or T-shirt with dark green jeans and white sneakers. So if you're doing this, choose colors carefully and try to come up with a great look that's a good combination of colors while still looking wonderful. This is still tough for most people to pull off. We'll see if any celebrities or designers can show us that colored denim isn't so '90s.

We immediately think of jeans in regards to colored denim. However, I'd like to imagine anything else of colored denim. What comes to mind for me are those denim jean trousers. I'm talking about thoese classy trousers usually made of dark denim and still considered jeans. I can't think of any denim pants that best fit this description. I haven't forgotten skirts. Skirts are a bit less forgiving in terms of coming up with good looks with colored denim. My favorite kind of denim skirts are any of those trumpet skirts that flare outward from about the knees. What about multicolored denim jackets? You can put some nice looks together with different-colored denim. However, it can be a huge gamble trying to put a good look together wearing denim other than blue, khaki, black, or white.

I think colored denim is different these days than in the 80s. It's not like acid washed and usually looks like a pair of cotton or twill pants, the way denim is these days.
So, it is just like wearing colored pants.

my friend owns a store and though all the mags write about colored jeans, she says she can't sell them unless they are on sale. i guess people don't want to make a big commitment like that.

i bought a few pairs for $25/each down in the fashion district in LA (Santee Alley) I def. wouldn't lay down a lot of money for this trend, but you can totally downplay them so they don't come off as being super-trendy. i think a pop of bright color is a cute look for spring.
