I love the pale aqua colour of Stella's hair on the ID cover above. And Katie's wedding shots are gorgeous! I could never do full on colour now, given my advanced age :p However, I have been considering a streak, maybe underneath, so it could be my little streaky secret, or not.

A lot of people dished Sienna's pinkish hair on her star style thread, but I kind of like it; to me, it gives her an edge!

I lived through new romantics, new wave, grunge, so ... You know... I am open to playing.

Kate Bosworth had some aqua/green tips that people in her thread seemed to hate...
I thought it looked kind of fun (from what I remember)

will be back with a pic later (am currently at work )

i think i prefer pink...especially on blondes...
...

sienna millers is nice...
i like it cause it's more subtle...
so i feel like it's a bit more subversive and cool...

'in your face' styles rarely appeal to me ...
:p

^ Agree with basically all you said softgrey. I much prefer Sienna's smoothie streaks to Kate's dip dye.

Although, I have to say that I like in-your-face styles on some people. Sometimes it works. Not always. But everything has to 'click in' for the look to be successful: personality, clothing, hair, it all has to be symbiotic for boldness to be carried effectively and stylishly.

This trend can be cute and fun, but I'm not sure if I'd pull it off myself.

i think it's ironic...
because i remember seeing that editorial...
and it wasn't the hair i noticed...
but the blue shoes!!!...
i thought they were such an interesting choice from a styling point of view...

...

just goes to show where my priorities lie...

i actually know someone who did this...
she did both a streak of blue and of pink on the underside...
*a bit like debbie harry with her dark in the back and platinum in the front
so- if she wants to hide it- she can...
and - if it turned out bad- she could just chop it off...
...

of course..
she's in her late 20's or something...
and she's beauty queen gorgeous...
so i don't know if she could even look bad if she tried...

^ Hmmm, not in my late 20s, maybe I should skip it!? :p

I like that HB shoot, very ladylike and yet offbeat.

I am also in my late twenties, and while my job has a 'very serious' dress code, and we are strict on the no jeans thing, especially in my department since we're 'public facing' (Comm/PR) I get away with this one all the time, especially just doing the ends, or a streak underneath, since my hair is usually up all day anyhow. I try to stay away from the super bright colors, and just focus mainly on pastel, keeping things subtle.
If it's a long weekend, I'll do a few streaks Thursday night, wear my hair up at work on Friday, and then let it go all weekend. If your hair is in good condition, it will have faded out by Monday/Tues anyway (I do shampoo my hair a lot). Pink does fade the quickest, in my opinion. But if you're blonde, over time it will make your hair brassy. Which is slightly annoying.

this is such a weird trend...it reminds me of my middle school and high school days (late 90s/early 2000s) when me and my sis used to streak our hair any color under the sun..my sis never stopped, i wonder if its a chain reaction from her :p
either way, i really dont think it works for many pple, certainly not kate bosworth. for me it was a trend a few years ago but not long enough ago to go back to it now.
