I've been searching, and I reached to the conclusion that everybody buys a bright green shade and mix it with a lot of conditioner. Maybe others can back this up for me?

I just found this in Natasha Poly's thread, I can't believe L'Oréal is selling pastel hair dye now!

Nice colors, though!

^Just came here to share the news. I wonder if they work on darker hair too.

^Great minds think alike. And no, according to the description on the website they only work on bleached hair. I like that they do an apricot shade, that's the one that's hardest to find or mix. It looks quite nice.

Oh, that's too bad. I have dark brown hair and was already excited to try it.

Possibly or a conditioning oil. What I do is just put a super-bright shade on but only for a few minutes. I like a slightly faded grungy look personally.

ETA: the US Vogue September Issue has some great pastel hair. Here is Xiao Wen Ju:

As much as I like pastel colored hair, it's painfully obvious that a lot of people photoshop their pictures and airbrush their desired color in. :/

I finally bleached my entire hair and dyed it. It was a hard thing to do, of course it was damaged, but with my curls it isn't THAT bad. At least, now it's finally purple.
As you can see, there are parts lighter than others, I can't understand why. People told me lilac is really hard, and I've been searching pictures of lilac hair and found that actually, almost everyone had it like this. weird.

oh that looks amazing.. I plan to dye my hair like that for summer holiday.. but don't you know how much could it be in the UK? (at hairdresser's, I don't trust myself to dye it at home)

I would NEVER do this on my own but always loved it in editorials. Anyone over the age of 16 should probably not attempt

i think maybe a streak or two looks cute but a whole head of it is just.... not the look. plus the people i have seen who have done it don't properly maintain it so it just looks like s**t. i mean, the least you can do is attempt to keep the color fresh!

I think it can look amazing in editorials and on certain people with a certain style.. I know a girl who's 30 who pulled off the pink pastel amazingly by combining it with a hip rock chic look. But that's just her style.

Anyway, I would totally do this, I used to have purple hair in grade 6, but my hair would fry and die if I did it now..

I absolutely love this color but I'm not sure if I'll look as good as him
