Robyn Duda, 22, an events coordinator in New York, said her contemporaries are now more conservative. "But some of this is just fashion," she said. "Whatever is in the magazines, that's what we're going to wear. If the magazines are showing skin, we're wearing skin. If it's a jeans jacket with the collar up, that what we're wearing."
a follow up to what had been predicted earlier right here on tfs...
i'm sorry...but i find this statement really distrubing and disappointing...so much for 'individuality' being a trend...well..at least she admits she's a fashion victim...a clueless clone...they say admission is the first step towards a cure... ...*sigh...
Carrie: [Reads from Vogue] "Cocktails at Tiffanys calls for classic charm. Oscar de la Renta sleeveless silk full skirted dress with black patent leather bow belt." Now that is pure poetry.

I'm exactly the same way! At least it's changing. I'm tired of seeing all of these ugly girls wearing super low jeans and top and showing off something that NO ONE should ever see.
does this mean that all the little skanks in my neighborhood will put some clothes on instead of prancing about in their bikinis at the grocery store...

This is what fashionable means doesn't it? I'm not fashionabe?
Very interesting... Hopefully the teens that are succumbing to the new trend will eventually emerge with a knowing appreciation of what they choose to wear in the future, whatever that may be.
i have begun to dress more "classy" if thats the right word to describe it, although i never really did yank my thong up past my low-risers to the top of a skank halter. i just really am when i see fugly girls do that and have their rolls roll over their jeans, its even sickening when you see skinny girls do it, let alone chubbby ones.

I really do like the idea behind this, but I find it a bit sad that it's really only being done because it's apparently the newest trend. It may be a more appealing trend, of course, but shouldn't it be done for yourself...? Not because the magazines are telling you that this is how you should be looking. And- after this phase has passed, it's back to normal for most of these girls.
ditto.
But really, I think teens that dress provocatively aren't doing it because it's the "trendy" thing to do - hell, they don't care about fashion. They're wearing their mini, mini skirt and belly-baring, cleavage-revealing tops because it gets attention, plain and simple.
Not having ever had breasts myself I couldn't possibly comment...however when I first had proper muscle it was like 'Whoo! Muscle...I'll walk around in tank tops and shorts all day'...so maybe teenage girls are like, 'Whoo! Curves...I'll walk around in tank tops and mini-skirts all day'...
