I think that will be ones of those things i dont like now, but will grow on me and no doubt by next summer a pair will have worked its way into my life.
They remind em of what little old ladies were with 3/4 legth trouser and bluses in early spring. No offence !!!! Some of the ones hanne posted were ok though.
luv ya

you know...technically...i don't think cork and wood platforms and espadrilles are the same thing...

i always thought of espadrilles as having a hemp (rope) sole...possibly with a layer of rubber on the bottom...they may or may not have a wedge and they may or may not tie around the ankle...but it's the canvas upper and hemp bottom that qualifies a shoe as an espadrille...as far as i know...

I'm catalan, and here 'espardenyes' are the traditional shoes. People have worn it for ages in the villages and the countryside (not with high heels, of course).
But I don't like it very much

You're absolutely right Softie, that's how I define espadrilles as well..I just saw others posting shoes that didn't fit those strick criterias..so I thought maybe my definition was wrong

I know! I'm not wishing I had gotten those gapkids espadrilles because they were like 10 bucks and so sweet. They are the pink polka dot ones above.
